Good Morning Fellow Stampers ~
TGIF!! And a wonderful 3-day weekend for me as it's an Off-Friday. It's a cool rainy day here, which I love. Hoping to run some errands, and cozy up this afternoon in my Studio. I'm putting my favorite Sweet and Sour Meatballs in the crock pot for the day, and am looking forward to a nice day off! Tomorrow I get spend the afternoon with my wonderful local stampers as we review the Retiring products, and make some wonderful projects with some of my favorite products that will soon be gone! Today, we're going to take a look at one of those "favorites" !! In fact, I just realized that pretty much everything on today's card will be retiring the end of May - grrrrrrr . . . .
It's time for this week's Mojo Monday [MOJO493] challenge design. I knew early in the week that I wanted to use my much loved and going to be sorely missed Blossom Bunch Punch and Grateful Bunch stamp set. But it wasn't really until sitting down last evening that I really started to pull together what this card would look like. I hoping you love this as much as I do.
When first starting to think about what I wanted for today's color combinations, I pulled out Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sugarplum and Blushing Bride ink pads and set them on my work table. But things changed slightly when I pulled out my Blooms & Bliss designer series paper, and the paper really directed where I ended up with today's color combo. Actually, these colors really work nicely together - a strong darker color to showcase the softer lighter colors.
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card is cut from Thick Whisper White cardstock, 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2". The background layering is Sweet Sugarplum, overlaid with a beautiful piece of Blooms & Bliss DSP. That layering was wrapped with a piece of Blushing Bride 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon before being adhered to the card front. The popped focal point layer is Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White.
- Suite Sentiments With a Grateful Bunch. This gorgeous sentiment is from the Suite Sentiments stamp set in the Spring Occasions catalog (leaving us the end of May). I've used this stamp set all this year, and find I keep going back to it. I'm now wondering if it might be staying in my stash. We'll see. I used the gorgeous images from the Grateful Bunch stamp set to add the details to this piece - lace edging in Blushing Bride, a sweet little butterfly, and of course, our gorgeous blossoms, easily punched out with the coordinating Blossom Bunch Punch. We're losing it all in a month folks -- so get it today!!! As you can see, I combined my chosen colors throughout my stamping - the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry, the lace in Blushing Bride, and then careful rock 'n roll stamping for the butterfly in Blushing Bride and Sweet Sugarplum, and combining the two colors for the flowers as well. The result is just beautiful!! Some shimmer added with Wink of Stella is the perfect finishing touch for an elegant card like this one!
A Blushing Bride double bow and properly placed pearls finishes off this gorgeous card.
I am so thrilled with how this turned out.
- Turn to the Inside. A few more stamped images from the set finish off the inside of this card beautifully. Don't you love the little details that make a card look "finished?"
If you have looked closely at the Blooms & Bliss DSP, then you will know that it contains two colorways - one in the purple/pink family you see here; and one in the indigos/blue family.
I ran out of time, but I love this so much, that I intend to make it a second time in the blue colorway. I'll try to share that up with you if I get a chance!
So much fun . . . so little time!!!
