Good Morning Everyone! Hope everyone is having a nice and restful weekend. I'm puttering through a few more card challenges, trying to decide what I'd like to inspire you with, and nursing a bad tooth :-( It looks like I'm going to have to head back to the dentist this next week.
Today I want to bring you a new technique I stumbled on, and absolutely fell in love with. It's not a difficult technique, but it does take a little practice and work. I redid this card 3 times before I finally decided I was happy enough with the end result to share it with all of you and submit it to the two challenges it's going to this week. You can learn more about this technique HERE. This card is submitted for the SplitCoastStampers LOVEFEST2014G challenge, and the CCEE Stampers #1408 Challenge. The CCEE challenge is a new one for me and one I stumbled on while scrolling around SplitCoast for a while.
Once you score your card, and choose the stamp you want to stamp in place, cut a "mask" to carefully cover just the "grout lines" and then lightly sponge around each square. I sponged a little more than the tutorial shows. For a truer Delft Tile look, you might want to pull your sponging in tighter and more narrow, closer to the grout line. Be careful to not push down too hard on your stamp so as to cause it to stamp into the "grout lines" you created when you scored. This happened to me the first time out, and it ruins the look you are seeking to achieve.
In the coming months I will be holding special classes at my home for my local customers, and a Technique Class will be one of those classes. We will learn this and many other fun techniques in those classes. In the meantime, I will bring a "new technique" to you here from time-to-time, so keep your eyes open :-)
Hope you enjoyed this. Let me know our comments -- would love to hear from you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected].
Have a great day!
