Bringing a lovely card to you today created and submitted for the LOVEFEST2014F challenge over on SplitCoastStampers, and for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge (FMS124).
The color challenge for LOVEFEST2014F by Sweet-n-Sassy stamps was not my favorite at first. I'm kind of worn out on the "Valentine" thing, so I was a little bit like, uggghhhh -- yuck!. But then I got to thinking about our new Fresh Prints DSP from the 2014 Occasions catalog, and sure enough, I realized the paper in this lovely DSP stack was perfect for this challenge. Even better, it allowed me to pull out the lovely Vine Street embossing folder from last year's Sale-A-Bration. I've always liked this embossing folder. I think the paper from the Fresh Prints is a perfect coordinated match.
The center panel was embossed, and then lightly sponged with a mixture of Blushing Bride and White Kraft ink. I was trying for a coordinated effect with the lighter petals in the paper. The flower was punched out with the Pansy Punch, and then sponged with Illuminate ink and Blushing Bride ink. The Petite Petals stamp and punch (brand new in our current Occasions Catalog) is the perfect coordiate to our Pansy/Flower Shop set and makes a lovely center. I "pinned" the 3 flowers together with a Subtles brad, and added a few pearls for a dainty finish. The flower petals were gently curled with a bone folder, and the entire bundle is "popped up" using several dimensionals to give enough space for the curled effect.
The sentiment is from our brand new Penant Parade set, and is the perfect sentiment for this card, as it's not too overwhelming and just fits in nicely at the top of the card (also embellished with a few pearls and popped up with dimensionals). I think the card befits a lovely stroll down Vine Street memory lane.
