Good Evening Everyone -
My apologies for being away for a couple days. It has been an incredibly stressful several days and I have not had a chance to do any creating or crafting due to a small crisis in my life. I was driving to Evergreen, Colorado, on Sunday afternoon to a massage therapy appointment, when I noticed a strange noise my car was making. I noticed I started having trouble "climbing" Genessee Hill on I-70, and started to become increasingly concerned at the noises my 1997 Geo Prizm was making; so I began to pull over, and was all the way over driving on the right-hand shoulder when I realized that the Lookout Mountain exit was just ahead, so I breathed a prayer I'd make it, and got off what is a very very busy highway, on a day that was extremely gray cloudy socked in and very cold wind blowing besides. I was lucky enough that there was a bus park-n-ride right off the exit I took, so I was able to pull off to a safe place and try to collect my wits. I called my brother who is a truck driver and was about to hit the road for his weekly run, but kindly called a friend of his and sent him up to help me. In the meantime, I used the roadside emergency service assistance I have on my car insurance for the very first time. My brother's friend and the two driver showed up at the same time. We were able to get the vehicle down to the car service center, and me safely home. However, the reality at that point was, something had gone terribly wrong and I was carless.
Monday morning, my boyfriend came over and we proceeded back to the car service center, and one listen by the mechanic was all it took for him to tell me that the car had thrown it's bottom rod bearing, and it was done for. He told us it would be $5000 to fix/drop a new engine in the car, and there was no way he recommended we spend that kind of money on such an old vehicle. So now I was faced with what to do next. It's been a tough couple days, dealing with finances, options, decisions, but thanks to the wonderful man in my life, I have a new vehicle sitting in my garage tonight -- a 2009 Kia Spectra! I've never had such a nice car -- I'm still trying to take it all in.
Don't look at my messy garage please -- LOL :-)
I'll take better pictures in a couple days outside; it's somewhat cold and windy out right now.
So needless to say, I haven't had any time to deal with fun stuff. Other than . . . .
Last night was our "red carpet premier" for all the Stampin' Up! Demonstrators of our new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog coming on June 4th. It was a really spectacular event; it was wonderful to get together with Stampin' Up! Demontrators from all around the state; and all I can tell you is -- the new catalog is spectacular!!! I can hardly wait to share it with all of you. I'll be starting to plan new projects and work toward showcasing the new products soon! You're going to love it!!
In the meantime, we're still closing out 2013-2014, and the retiring products list. Don't miss out on your favorite things. Lots of things are still available :-) This weeks' weekly deals are somemore of our wonderful retiring products, on a great discount -- so snap them up!!
