Happy Wednesday Fellow Stampers -
It's Hump Day -- as the camel would say :-) And it's Wow Wednesday here at Doggone Delightful Stampin'! Wow, because I made, a fast, easy card that has a "wow" to it -- bright, sassy, summery, fun! Just what I was going for :-)
I created this card for the Technique Twist (TTTC#29), and Paper Players (PP207) challenges this week. Both fun and inventive challenges. The Technique Twist challenged us to use "fringe" in some way in our designs, and The Paper Players, wanted us to use buttons. Now how fun is that? :-)
So I got a little creative, pulled out those beautiful new fringe scissors that have been sitting there staring at me just waiting to be used, and cut a few fun flowers from the Flowerpot DSP using the Fun Flower and Pansy punches. The result was very cool! :)
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Cardbase for this card is cut from Whisper White cardstock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". Remember to use your Simply Scored tool (or your trimmer) to score your card before folding it; and use your bone folder to gently put that crease in place. Don't push too hard - you don't want unsightly "cracking" of the paper.
- A Pop of Late Summer. The focal colors in this card center around Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry, and Crisp Canteloupe. Bright late summer season colors to make the Wow Pop on this card. It feels warm and sunny and fun to me :-) The Flowerpot DSP coordinate with all these colors, and I picked these specific papers for their fun motifs. The crushed curry chevron ribbon makes a perfect "centering" piece to the card background, which is stamped in Crisp Canteloupe on Whisper White cardstock using the Flower Shop stamp set.
- Fringe Those Petals. Using my fun fringe scissors, I carefully cut the edges of each of the petals of the punched flowers. The effect is very neat, kind of creating a "feathered" look to the petal edges. I then curled the petals with my bone folder, stacked the 3 flowers together with SNAIL adhesive between each layer, and popped them up with dimensionals. A perfect Calypso Coral button from my retired "stash" makes a perfect flower center.
- Just Saying Hello. I thought this would be a fun card to just pop in the mail to someone and let them know I'm thinking of them and just wanted to say "hello." The Perfect Pennants stamp set has a perfect "hello" for just such an occasion and works perfectly with our banners framelits.
Here's hoping this card brings a little sunshine to your Hump Day :-) Won't you let me know what you think? Love hearing your comments. As always, if you ever have any questions regarding my designs, I'm only an email away. Looking for a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator? I'd LOVE to be yours!
