Sending You a Little Dash of Cheer!

Hi Fellow Stampers --

Happy Friday -- and Happy Halloween to all of you :-)  I've been busily  making little treat gifts for my co-workers.  So I hope they'll enjoy those today!  In the meantime . . .  It's time for the Paper Players challenge (PP219).  I hope you will be able to get the effect of this card.  The card is much better in person :-)  At any rate, this is a fun card, made with the Endless Wishes stamp set, fun Silver Foil Vellum, and coordinating washi tape, inks, and ribbons :-)

 

I have to say before I start, that I am grossly unhappy with today's pictures;  This card has so much white and silver to it, and no matter how much I played with things, this card just is washed out or doesn't have the right effect.  I almost dumped everything and started over; but I'm going to force myself to just move forward with things the way they are, and hope for the best !  So bear with me please!

 

 

Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:

• This card is formed from a Whisper White cardbase, cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"; a piece of Silver Foil Designer Vellum with the Silver Stripe pattern is overlayed, cut a 1/4" smaller than the card front. 

  Technique Tip:  When putting your adhesive on the back of vellum, "hide" behind pieces where it won't be seen through the vellum on the front.  In this case, that was easy -- just run your adhesive along the silver stripes on the backside -- you'll never see it when you lay it down :-)

• Snowflake Focus.  The focus piece on this card is cut 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" from Whisper White, and is matted with a piece of Lost Lagoon just 1/8" larger; the lower right-hand corners are rounded with the new Project Life corner rounder.  Prior to lying down the Whisper White on the Lost Lagoon mat, I edged it with some of the silver stripe pattern washi tape from the All Is Calm suite, and then a piece of the 1/8" silver ribbon.  I then stamped my snowflake pattern in Silver Metallic Encore ink, Pear Pizzaz ink, and Lost Lagoon ink.  The cute little sentiment "a little dash of Cheer" is stamped in Lost Lagoon on the Silver Washi using the silver ribbon as a "line" guide.  It's subtle, but looks very nice in person.  One thing about stamping on washi tape is it is not like cardstock, so the ink doesn't "soak in."  You have to give it some time to dry and be very careful so as not to smear it when handling.  The entire focal piece is popped up with dimensionals.

Let's Talk Paper Pumpkin - October Review

Good Morning Fellow Stampers -

 

Happy Thursday!!  :-)

Did you get this month's Paper Pumpkin kit?  Did you have a chance to play with it yet?  Isn't it fabulous???  LOL  ---  I'm lovin' it!!

In the picture above, I'm showcasing a number of "stepped up" ideas to make using your PP kit supplies, including the original idea (in the lower right-and corner).  There are so many things you can do with this month's kit supplies, and these are really just a few!  I'm lovin' my cute banner you see stretched across in the background!

 

Take your fun "pie" boxes, cut them apart, and let your imagination run wild :-)  This fun card, will need a special envelope -- and what better than your Envelope Punch Board!!  Sentiment is from the fabulous new stamp set, Mingle All the Way

 

How about a little "whipped topping" for your pie ?  LOL  -- some nice Whisper White Seam Binding ribbon, and crepe paper "pansy punch" layers make perfect whipped topping!

 

I think this was my favorite little project, and really so simple.  Using our brand new Tree punch, punch a tree image to match the shape of your "pie box" in the front panel (look carefully at how your box folds to determine the "front" of your box); place a piece of vellum over your tree punch out, decorate with some "bling", and don't forget the "pot" for your tree :-); add a gold foil star with your Itty Bitty Accents star punch; using your paper-piercing tool, poke holes randomly in the front of the box around your tree to give extra little "pin pricks" of light.  Pop a flameless tealight inside, and close it up --  Perfect!!!

Fall Is In the Air (4) for the Creative Crew - Autumn Adventures

Hello Fellow Stampers -- Happy Hump Day :-)

Can you believe we're down to 3 days left in October, and that Halloween is literally right around the corner?  Just so hard to believe how fast this year has gone.

 

Today I bring you my final installment in my SplitCoastStampers Creative Crew Designs for October.   We're literally just days away from opening the November Gallery and showcasing all the fun items the Creative Crew has been busily designing for your enjoyment and inspiration :-)  I am looking forward to sharing those with you !!

 

In the meantime, this design is all about memorykeeping, Project Life by Stampin' Up! style.  And I really am intrigued by this new way of keeping pictures and memories.  This particular page was literally so easy to just throw together -- of my day away in the beautiful Rocky Mountains to catch a glimpse of our beautiful golden Aspen trees before the winds, and changing weather took the last beautiful leaves away for the season.

 

 The readymade cards and pocket pages just make it so easy to "decorate" and journal and just pop things into pockets.  I love it.  You can dress it up as much as you want, or just leave it the way it is.  In this case I cut some fun leaves with our Fun Fall framelits and ebossed them with the Fancy Fan TIEF before popping them on my little pocket cards for some extra "embellishment."  And then I decided that was just perfect the way it was :-)
