Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
Happy Monday!! -- December 1st!! WOW!! Are you making those "to do lists" to get ready for Christmas? Writing those Christmas Letters? Getting that shopping done? Hope you're all further along than I am -- why not share today your organization plans for the next 3 1/2 weeks :-)
Today is Pals Paper Arts challenge (PPA229) time. This was a fun little sketch that I've been contemplating all week -- and just knew the other day that I wanted to create something "frosty" and snowflakey -- is that word? It is now -- LOL ;) As I was playing with Soft Sky in some other designs over the weekend, I kind of fell in love with the crisp yet soft coolness of this color. So I immediately reached for this color as I began designing this card last night. The beautiful All Is Calm SDSP coordinates with this soft color and I found the perfect background for my design in this collection.
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology: This card is cut from Soft Sky cardstock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". It is layered with Whisper White and a piece of All Is Calm SDSP each an 1/8" of an inch inset from the previous layer.
- Dazzling Snowflakes. My new favorite of the glimmer papers this year is the newly released Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper. It's absolutely stunning and just glimmers in the light like you wouldn't believe!! I can't get enough of it. I am also head over heels with the Snowflake Card Thinlet set. From the moment I saw this set at Convention in July I knew it was a must have -- and I was right. The snowflake dies in this set are absolutely stunning and so elegant and dainty. They are perfect cut from the Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper and laid on this designer paper background. You can almost feel the chill as these snowflakes "fall" across the paper ;) My "Noel" is also cut from Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper using the die from the Wonderful Wreath framelits. Another set that has turned out to be Fabulous!! Laid as my "banner" in the sketch across the beautiful Soft Sky seam binding, this card just excudes a simple elegance. I even left off the pearls ;) Can you believe it?? The double bow seemed to be the only finishing touch this card really needed.
What do you think of today's design? I'd love to read you comments, and do cherish them all :) I had a fabulous time designing this card and hope you will enjoy it and that it will inspire you.
