Happy Sunday Fellow Stampers -
It's been somewhat of an emotional weekend for me as I have been struggling with a difficult situation and trying to determine the proper response. I'm learning that even in my late 40's, it can still be difficult to keep emotions at bay; keep responses thoughtful and appropriate. Sometimes you just want to cry and lash out all at the same time. Nevertheless, I am so thankful and grateful (as it seems the appropriate season to say so), for all of my wonderful supportive customers and friends, and all of you who stop by to visit me each day, and sometimes leave a comment that lifts my spirits and builds my confidence. Thank you from my heart to each of you. This has caused my designing to be a little behind schedule, so I apologize!
So now enough of that sappiness; I'm getting back on track, so let's have a little fun today! It's Mojo Monday (MOJO370) challenge time, and today I'm pulling in the fabulous Can You Case It (CYCI44) color challenge with it. I will admit that the stamp set(s) I was originally considering to create this design, are not where I ended up -- LOL. But interestingly enough, I realized that this is one of the sets I got back in July already and just have not reached for much at all while creating this Fall -- which is strange as this simple set of stamps is really quite beautiful and easy to create with. Especially when coordinated with so many of our beautiful tools available in the current Occasions Catalog. I hope you will enjoy my design today :-)
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Blissful Color Combination. In keeping with the color challenge from CYCI, the cardbase for this card is cut from Very Vanilla cardstock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". The background pieces are Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow. I created the inset piece using a piece of 2014-2015 DSP, brushed with Soft Suede to create a softer antiqued look. It is bordered at the top with Gold Foil cardstock, and 3/8" Mossy Meadow Stitched Satin Ribbon.
- Merry Rock 'n Roll. The sentiment from the Seasonally Scattered stamp set is inked with Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss inks using the "rock 'n roll" technique, and stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock. I love the resulting effect :-) The piece is matted with Blackberry Bliss, and the corners are rounded with the Project Life corner rounder punch. Before the piece was laid on the card front with dimensionals, I first "ruffled" a piece of Whisper White 1/2" seam binding ribbon which has been sprayed with an alcohol mixture of Blackberry Bliss ink using our Stampin' Spritzers. How dark your color is will depend on how many drops of ink you put into the rubbing alcohol in the spritzer. I opted for a lighter shade here with this ribbon.
- Swirling Snowflakes. These beautiful snowflakes are made using the dies from the Snowflake Card Thinlets Die set. I am IN LOVE with this sets of dies, that's all I can say -- LOL :-) These snowflakes are cut from Blackberry Bliss, Gold Foil, and Mossy Meadow. The large Blackberry Bliss snowflake is attached to the center of Mossy Meadow bow, and capped with a Gold Foil snowflake and pearl. The remaining snowflakes "swirl" downward from this focal point.
I hope you have enjoyed this design today and will feel inspired to go give it a try :-) Won't you let me know what you think of this design today? I loved putting this together, partly because the "Purple family" is one of my favorite color pallates!
If you haven't stocked up on the supplies to create this card yet, drop me and email or give me a call -- we'll get you all set up :-) Are you looking for a Stampin' Up! demonstrator? I'd be honored to be your choice.
Until Next Time . . .
