Howdy Fellow Stampers -
How is everyone this Monday? We're sitting squarely between Christmas and New Year's -- and things are cookin' here at Doggone Delightful Stampin' :) -- T0day is a wintery blustery day here in Colorado; we are currently 8 degrees outside, with a wind chill right on Zero -- yes, I said ZERO!! and we're dropping! Ugggghhhhh -- I greatly dislike this part of Winter!
Inside, we're snuggly warm, with a nice pot of chili bubbling away, and Miss Laredo knawing on a bone that Santa left, but Mom was smart enough to hide away until she got stir-crazy and needed a distraction ;-)
Last month, I didn't get around to "talking Paper Pumpkin," which was really too bad, because last month's kit was really quite fabulous!!! This month's kit is pretty terrific too -- I'm loving it !! Have you gotten signed up for Paper Pumpkin yet? If you haven't, believe me, you are most definitely missing out! Here is this month's video from Stampin' Up! :
So, one of the perks for my local PP subscribers is a monthly Club where we get together, put our kits together as instructed, and also collaborate on "stepped up" ideas using the supplies in the kit, and sometimes some coordinating additional products. This month was really a lot of fun playing with these fabulous shaker cards! Here's some pics to get you started :
Some fun options creating the cards the way they come in the kit :)
Now, "how do you do that?" you ask -- you use the negative space of the sheet you pop all your stars out of as a stencil, and go to town :-) Not difficult; just tape it down over your card base with artists tape, sponge each section with the corresponding color, and you're all set! Likewise, use the negative space left behind after lifting your pre-cut lettering, backing it on Whisper White cardstock, and matting it out with Smokey Slate, and popping it with a few dimensionals ! What colors are featured in this kit, you ask? Well, let me tell you -- Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Smokey Slate, and your choice of Bermuda Bay, or the lighter tone of Coastal Cabana. I used Coastal Cabana here on this card.
Here is a fun little card using the leftover pieces after your stars have been popped out. These little notecards are cut 5" x 7", and scored at 3 1/2" on Whisper White cardstock. I have used some of our very fun trim from last year -- unfortunately retired, but I stocked up before it was gone; I'm betting you did too!!! So pull it out and use it!
This kit really so much fun. And the great thing is we have some wonderful coordinating products in the current catalogs that you can put with the kit and create even more fun designs. I'm going to list some of those below at the end of today's blog, so pop on down and take a look!
In the meantime -- I'm going to have a year end Blog Candy Giveaway !!! Whooo Hooo ! How fun is that :-)
