Good Morning Fellow Stampers --

Happy Saturday!  We're down to the final day of Leadership 2015 in Orlando, Florida (which I'm attending virtually ;-) ), and it has really been an incredible and fabulous time!  I cannot say enough at how well Stampin' Up! treats its demonstrators, and how inspired you walk away feeling after a General Session spent with the "top brass" at Stampin' Up!  We have lots of exciting changes coming at Stampin' Up! behind the scenes -- things that you the customer never know about or really see; but in the long-run it's going to be very very exciting for all of us :-)  I cannot share a lot of what we Demonstrators are told -- but I can assure you that Stampin' Up! is a strong, stable and viable company that is going to be here for a long time to come :-)

 

Our morning session today (yes, bright and early for us Coloradoans!), was beyond inspiring.  I will share more about this soon -- but I just have to say that I am so proud to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, and to "share what I love" with all of you!  I hope that I bring a little bit of sunshine to your lives each day; that you find some creative inspiration here at this website; and that somehow, even though we are connected only virtually, that you feel a little bit like you have a friend here when you stop by to visit!  I hope to get to know you all better in the days and weeks and months ahead; and that I can help you find your passion to share with others, spread comfort and joy where needed, or just brighten someone's day!

 

Today, I wanted to take some time to share a little of this month's fabulous Paper Pumpkin kit!!!  Ooooo lala :-)  I have to tell you, if you have not signed up yet for this fabulous monthly subscription -- you are really missing out :-)  The surprise each month is well worth it; and as one of my customers told me recently, she actually can hardly wait for the little orange box to arrive in the mailbox!  I think that is fabulous -- because I feel the same way! :-)

Now, my Paper Pumpkin subscribers get special perks when they join under me -- including a monthly club where we get together to put together our kits and explore fun "stepped up" projects that we can make with our kit contents.  Often these are cards -- but I am exploring scrapbooking spreads and other ideas as well.  We had a lot of fun this month, as I pushed my little group to "create" and design on the fly so to speak.  It was so wonderful to see the group push themselves outside their comfort zone and create from scratch their very own designs and ideas.  They did fantastic!!!  Even beginner stampers can do this!!!  It so easy and fun when it's all handed give to you in a cute little box :-)

My Silly Valentine for the Paper Players

(Before everyone starts asking about the cute little Curvy Keepsake box on the left, no worries -- we'll be getting to those here soon; be patient :) )

Happy Friday!!!  TGIF, right?  I've been struggling again this week with feeling well; keep hoping I'll get over the hump if I keep taking all my vitamins and good stuff, right?  It's back to the dentist this afternoon for some follow up, so I'm crossing my fingers that this will bring some closure as well to some of what has been making me feel "grumpy." :-)

 

Today is Paper Players [PP229] challenge time -- and I'm throwing in the Can You Case It [CYCI#54] challenge today which was a "designer's choice" challenge, which just opens up all sorts of possibilities :-)

 

 

Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:

• Layerothology.  [Yes, I made up that word several months ago; I kind of like it LOL  maybe Webster's will pick it up soon!!] :-)  I decided today that we needed something kind of light, and bright, and springy -- and I wanted to play with the new Sale-A-Bration items that are just so fabulous!!  I decided to feature The Best Day Ever and Best Year Ever suite -- including the stamp set, the paper and even the ribbon :-)  [guess I should have included the buttons too -- LOL].

 

• This card base is cut from Whisper White cardstock - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".  I then created a "double" layered look by first creating a background from the "bokeh" paper from the Best Year Ever DSP, cut 3" x 5 1/4", and backed with a piece of Coastal Cabana, cut just an 1/8" larger all the way around.  This is laid to the Whisper White in the background with SNAIL.  The I created a "forward focal point" using a piece of Whisper White cut 1 7/8" x 4 3/4", and backed with a piece of Calypso Coral cut just 1/8" larger all the way around.

 

 

 

• Best Day Ever.  I really do love this cute little stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  It has some adorable images in it that you can just really play with.  I stamped a little "bokeh" background in Crisp Cantaloupe with the "dots image" from the set -- Note:  This is Pam Morgan's favorite image from that set -- LOL  :-)  [For those of you who do not know, Pam Morgan is the Vice President of Demonstrator Support at Stampin' Up! - fabulous lady!].  Technique Tip:  By stamping your image, then stamping again, then stamping again, allowing the ink to "stamp off" each time, you can get the variegated and varied strength levels of the image to create that "bokeh" effect that we're seeking - darker to lighter.  The cute "heart flowers" are created with the images in this same set -- green stems in Old Olive with cute little "heart" leaves also in Old Olive; and striped heart "flowers" in Calypso Coral.  I then punched out hearts from more of the Best Year Ever DSP using the cute heart from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, and attached those with glue dots to add a little dimension.  The ribbon is from the Best Year Ever accessory pack -  luscious!  

 

• My Silly Valentine.  I brought in an adorable sentiment from the new Snuggles & Smooches photopolymer stamp set, and stamped it on my Sweetheart  punched hearts in Calypso Coral. 

Technique Tip: When you attach your bows, or are just struggling to get them to lie a certain way -- use your glue dots tucked right where you need them!!  This little "dot" of magic will take all your anxiety and frustration away :-)

Pals Paper Arts Artist Pick!

 

Good Morning Fellow Stampers :-)

 Happy Hump Day!!  :-)  I seem to have come down with a strange sore throat and the crud -- boy I hope not!!  We shall see if I can beat this off or not.

In the meantime, my dear customer and friend, Ann Stoelzle, has indeed beat me to the punch in congratulating me for being an "Artist Pick" over at the Pals Paper Arts challenge this morning :-)  Thank you Ann for your kind words!

It is indeed a pleasure to be recognized for your creative work :-)  Sometimes you feel like you hit it out of the park on a design; and other times, you're not so sure.  I felt pretty good about this design on Monday!

Monochromatic Valentine for Pals Paper Arts

 

Hello Fellow Stampers :-)

Good Monday Evening to all of you!  I hope you had a good start to your week!  I have to admit -- I woke up pretty grumpy this morning; and got grumpier when I had to get out of bed and actually get dressed to go to work -- my poor boyfriend -- LOL :-)  He sure didn't know what had gotten into me this morning! 

So it's time for the Pals Paper Arts [PPA237]challenge this week, and this design is a little late for you all today, but I am quite pleased with how it came together -- somewhat of what I was imagining in my mind's eye.  I hope you will agree :-)

 

 

Doggone Delighful Stampin' Design Tips:

• Layerothology.  I have contemplated the look I wanted for this card for a day or so.  I really wanted to pull out the brand new Something Borrowed designer series paper and give it a whirl.  Combining these beautiful neutrals with the new Jute ribbon gave me just the monochromatic yet elegant look I was seeking. I had thought about black and white; I am very glad I gave the Sahara Sand and White effect a try.  The cardbase for this card is cut from Whisper White, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".  There is a mat layer of Sahara Sand, cut  5 3/8" x 4 1/8"; and then a top background layer from the new Something Borrowed DSP cut 5 1/4" x 4".  This layer is wrapped with the new Jute ribbon before being applied to the card base.  Technique Tip:  Strategically place a couple glue dots across the front of the card front behind the Jute ribbon to "tack" it in place.  Jute does not have the same "soft" and flexible effect you are used to with regular ribbon, and this will help hold it in place and look nice.
  

• You + Me.  I combined the brand new You Plus Me stamp set with the fun Groovy Love stamp set that was introduced in our Annual Catalog last June.  I really love our stamp sets and how they work hand-in-hand with each other so nicely.  In this case, I wanted to honor the "elements" of the sketch, yet be unorthodox with them.  I was not intent on creating 2 off-set rectangles :-)  I also wanted to bring our fabulous Four Feathers set back out from the Holiday catalog.  Remember -- this terrific set and matching framelits carried forward and is still available :-)  I decided to cut out 3 feathers and emboss them with the new Spring Flowers TIEF.  Love the effect of that!  :-)

 

Strategically place your pearls to "frost" your card :-)
