Hello Fellow Stampers :-)
Happy Sunday -- and for those of us who are Denver Bronco's fans -- today is a big day!! The road to the Super Bowl!! Whoo hoooo -- so I'm biting my nails and pacing the floor!!
In the meantime, it's Mojo Monday (MOJO379)challenge time -- and I combined this week's Mojo challenge with the delightful color theme challenge over at colourQ (cQc #274) :-) So let's see today's inspiration!
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. Let's talk cardbase and layers :-) This card is cut from Very Vanilla cardstock, the "long" way as I call it -- 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2". The background is cut from Crumb Cake at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8", embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots TIEF, and adhered to the cardbase. On top of that we lay 3 different layers that encompass a background pice cut from the brand new Birthday Bash SDSP [ 2 1/2" x 3"] and matted with a piece of Old Olive just 1/8" larger; a piece of Rich Razzleberry [3 1/8" x 3 3/8"] with an offset of Very Vanilla cut 3 " x 3 1/4" -- now do you see the method to my madness on the strange measurement for the Rich Razzleberry? It's the matted background to the Very Vanilla so has to be 1/8" larger -- however, I chose to offset the Very Vanilla piece for some interest to the card and sketch. The final top layer holds the sentiment and we'll talk about that in a few minutes :-)
- Balloon Bash. Let's talk about these fabulous new Birthday stamp sets :-) I am so excited about all the new birthday sets - and Balloon Bash and Celebrate Today are just fabulous!!! The really fun thing about Celebrate Today is the fantastic matching Balloon Framelits die set. Cute little banners made easy! [and lots of other fun things you can do with those too - guaranteed you're going to see some unusual idea with that cute little cutout!] These balloons are from Balloon Bash which has some beautiful sentiments in it as well. The Very Vanilla piece has been sponged with Crumb Cake to soften the look. The banner is stamped from Celebrate Today using Stampin Write markers in Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive and then cut out with the matching die. I attached this cute little "double" banner with glue dots.
- #HappyBirthday. Don't you just love these new sentiments?! I think they're fabulous! Even more fun is how you can coordinate these with our dies and punches to create a beautiful layered look. The sentiment is stamped in Rich Razzleberry on Very Vanilla, and then sponged with Crumb Cake; finally cut out with one of the Chalk Talk framelits; then matted with a piece of Calypso Coral that was punched with the Scallop Tag Topper punch - both ends. Isn't that cool? :-) The sentiment has been popped with dimensionals.
I snuck in a few rhinestones -- can you find them? ;-) I hope you enjoyed today's card. It's going to be a "birthday week" here at Doggone Delightful Stampin' as we prepare for the Birthday card Stamp-a-Stack class here next Saturday! What do you think about the new Birthday sets in the new catalog ? Won't you let me know in your comment today? Remember, if you have a question about the cards I create, or the techniques I use, I am only an email away!
Until Next Time . . .
