Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
Welcome to a beautiful Sunday morning. The sunrise over Denver, Colorado this morning was absolutely stunning!! I wish I could have shared it with all of you. I am enjoying some peace and quiet this morning which I have desperately needed! I hope you can relax today as well. Miss Laredo, however, may get thrown in the bathtub in a while -- LOL :-)
It's Mojo Monday challenge [MOJO380] time; and this week I have combined with the colourQ color [cQc#275] challenge. Let's check it out :-)
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. Don't you love this color combination? :-) I think it's actually a lot of fun. The cardbase for this card is cut from Whisper White cardstock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". The background layering is done first with Wisteria Wonder just 1/8" less than the card front measurements of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"; layered on top with Marina Mist sized at 4" x 5 1/4", and embossed with the Stylish Stripes TIEF. Now add a vertical layer that is cut from the new Birthday Bash SDSP, and matted with a bit of Night of Navy (stripe is cut 2 1/16" x 5"; Night of Navy is cut 2 3/16" x 5 1/8") - note that I centered my cut on the striped paper so it would have approximately the same white stripe from left to the far right one.
- Focal Points. This card has several focal points at the top "layer" as I'll call it here. I laid Night of Navy seam binding ribbon over the stripe of the DSP underneath it, then created a double bow to sit above the sentiment from the fabulous new You Plus Me stamp set, stamped and matted in Melon Mambo. In keeping with the Mojo Monday sketch, I created a "second" vertical stripe with the really really fun swirls from the new Snuggles & Smooches stamp set which was released in December. This fun set has a lot of possibilities. Here I cut the swirls with a Circle framelit, and popped them up with dimensionals in an "offset" to create a fun look to the card. Don't forget those pearl embellishments!! A perfect "icing" to every card as far as I'm concerned -- LOL. I know my upline Ann Schach would agree :-)
Have you enjoyed today's design? What do you think of this color combination and the color "pop" in the focal point? I'd love to hear your comments and thoughts. I had fun designing this card!
