Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
It's Monday. Time to kick off the week. It's going to be a "long" week for me as it's a working Friday this week, and a lot is going on at work right now. It's also a very exciting week for me as we approach a very important milestone this week -- but we'll be talking more about that later, so stay tuned :-)
It's Pals Paper Arts [PPA239] challenge time. This week's challenge is a color challenge. I struggled with this challenge. After the beautiful card I designed for Mojo Monday, I just didn't feel like I was eliciting the same excitement and inspiration for this card that I wanted. I'm almost wondering if I should have just done something totally different. It is what it is -- I'm hopeful that the end result is sweet and has somewhat of a vintage and feminine feel to it.
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card is cut from Soft Suede cardstock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". Two simple pieces create the layers for this card -- a piece of Real Red matting; a piece of Irresistibly Yours DSP (sale-a-bration item) which has been sponged with Crumb Cake ink. Remember, this is an "emboss resist" paper, so rub off the raised parts of the paper really well with a paper towel after you have finished inking. The two pieces are adhered together, and then wrapped with the new Sahara Sand 7/8" Lace Ribbon, and a piece of retired Crumb Cake 1/2" seam ribbon.
- Double Butterfly. Out come the beautiful Butterfly thinlet dies ;-) The larger one cut in Soft Suede; the smaller one in Real red, and nested together to make one unique butterfly! I then created a "bouquet" with our fabulous pansy and petite petals flower punches and tucked them in with the Crumb Cake bow to create a fun little focal point.
Technique Tip: When cutting your butterflies with these beautiful and intricate dies, create a sandwich in your Big Shot as follows: Magnetic Platform, cutting plate, a stack of 3 to 4 dryer sheets, cardstock, wax paper, die, cutting plate. Then run back and forth through the Big Shot a couple times. When you go to lift out your Butterfly, it will pop right out, with all the little pieces staying behind on the dryer sheet ;-)
Hope you have enjoyed this little design today. It's not as fancy as yesterday's, and would not take nearly as much time as yesterday's card, but it has it's nice little details :-) I'd love to hear your thoughts. Will you leave me a comment today? :-)
Have a fabulous Monday everyone!
The Doggone Delightful Stampin' Team!
