Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
It's Friday ;-) A working one for me; but I'm actually going to take this afternoon off and have lunch with my honey and get some errands run before the big snowstorm moves in for the weekend. I just have so much I need to get done, and boy does it put a damper on things when the weather goes bad and makes it tough to get out and about!
I can't skip getting the Paper Players challenge (PP232) design out to you though ;-) So here we are today --
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. I had a certain vision for today's card -- create a focal point "mini lake" for my little goose friend; and a background for the scene to blend into. This card is cut from Soft Sky cardstock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". A layer of Daffodil Delight is cut 1/8" smaller all the way around; and a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock another 1/8" in from that. The Very Vanilla and Daffodil Delight cardstock pieces were sponged with Crumb Cake ink before being layered together. The Very Vanilla piece was then sponged with Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, and Soft Sky, and then lightly stamped with honeycomb image from the Butterfly Basics stamp set (quickly becoming one of my favorite background images). I wrapped these two layers with Pink Pirouette 1/2" seam binding ribbon before laying it down on the cardbase. A lovely background for the focal point :-)
- Watercolor Focus. I don't do nearly enough watercoloring, and I do enjoy it. When I was thinking about this challenge, I knew I really wanted to pull out the brand new Moon Lake stamp set and get it inked up. I am really going to enjoy this stamp set :) My little goose is floating on a Soft Sky lake, among a Wild Wasabi cattail, with a gentle Daffodil Delight and Pink Pirouette sunset in the surrounding sky. It actually makes me think of the beautiful countryside of North Dakota; the fields of my grandparents so many years ago -- and when you drive down those country roads today, there are the lakes with the birds floating quietly in their beautiful solitude.
- Thinking of You. The new Crazy About You stamp set and the coordinating Hello You thinlets make an unbeatable "must have" sentiment set for your inventory. This is the corresponding set to the Good Greetings set we had last Fall, and fills in all the other holidays and events. I'm loving it. I also love being able to "curve" the photopolymer stamps just the way I want to fit any circumstance -- in this case, the curve of my oval :-)
- Details Make the Design. I consider my details very carefully every time I create a design. My double Pink Pirouette bow is accented with "strips" from the new White Jute ribbon; and my favorite pearl embellishments have been strategically placed across the design.
I hope you have enjoyed my soft, tranquil scene today -- my take on the "feathered friend" CAS design challenge -- not sure how CAS it is; I've said before, I'll say again -- LOL ;-) -- CAS is not necessarily my style! I'd love to hear from you; and as always, if you have any questions regarding my design(s), I'm only an email away :-) [email protected]
Have a Fabulous Friday everyone -- and stay safe and warm wherever you may be!
Until Next Time . . .
