Good Morning Fellow Stampers -

 Happy Hump Day!  It's crazy around here this week; more so than I really expected it to be.  Settling in with Miss Sadie Ann is proving to be a challenge.  She has much to learn in her young 11 weeks -- LOL  ;-)

 

So here it is -- the long awaited "list" of my top favorite things in the new Stampin' Up! 2015 Annual Catalog and Idea Book which began June 2nd.  It’s never easy to narrow down my favorites.  I can tell you the list goes far beyond these I list here today.  However, I hope this list inspires ideas and helps you pick out products that I believe will be popular and smart additions to your paper crafting inventory.  Let's get started :-)

 

Well, this is going to be my Top Ten -- plus a couple -- so hang on, here we go :-)

1. Birthday Blossoms - This lovely little stamp set is the perfect little set to create those sweet and lovely birthday designs.  Even better, it coordinates with our Pansy Punch, and I'm all about coordinating stamp sets and tools!!  Love it!!

 

 

2.  Endless Thanks.  This stamp set is next in the "Endless" greetings series.  Many may remember our beautiful Endless Wishes set, and the most recent Endless Birthday Wishes set.  This set is the next in the series and carries the same beautiful type font and sweet feel of the others.  Even better, this one is a two-step stamping stamp set.  It is a must have to round out your "Endless" greetings collection.

 

 

 

 3.  Over the Rainbow.  I like this set not only for the fabulous sentiments, but the coordinating swooshes and feel to the Work of Art stamp set.  Take a look, and you'll see the same artistic swooshes -- love it!  This set affords many possibilities.  And it's photopolymer too!!

 

 

 

3.  Barnyard Babies.  This has to be one of my top picks for new "baby" stamp sets this year.  What I love most about this stamp set is its versatility -- you can use it for much more than just "baby" -- take a look!  And it's beyond adorably cute besides!!

 

 

4. No Bones About It.  O M G!!!  LOL -- that's all I can say!  This new "kids" set is beyond adorable, and has so many potential uses.  Can you think "Halloween?"  Cute treat bags, tags, and so much more!!  And it's a two-step stamping set too!!

 

 

5.  You're So Sweet.  This adorable set coordinates with our Mini Treat Thinlets and I love that we have a new stamp set to go with those dies.  This set is so versatile and has so many fun options with it -- not just for treat gifts.  Even better -- it's been offered in a "bundle" with the thinlets at a 15% bundled discount price!!  Perfect time to get both!!!

7.  Vintage Leaves.  This is the other set that I just about did a swoon over.  I am "in love" and can hardly wait to start playing with this set this fall.  It too comes with a brand new framelit die set -- oh man!!  I am so excited!!  Just Beautiful!!  A "must have" for your collection in my opinion!!  Check out the bundled price on this stamp set and coordinating framelits set as well!

 

 

8.  Bohemian Borders.  I adore this border stamp set.  It's eclectic feel speaks to me.  I love the "southwest" look I see in these graphics and am looking forward to using this set a lot this year.  I adore the coordinating designer series paper and the Boho Chic textured impressions embossing folder, as well as the designer washi tape.  The entire collection in its deep rich colors makes quite a flair!

 

 

9.  Happy Happenings.  I think this is just one of the best sentiment sets in the catalog.  Several of our kit sets run a close second and third; this one really is quite fabulous though!  I think it is a "must have" in this year's collection.

 

 

 

10.  Market Fresh.  I really adore pretty much everything in the "Artistic Expressions" section this year.  So selecting just one of the sets from this section is difficult for me.  This one, however, has to be at the very top of my list.  I can hardly wait to get my hands on this set and get it inked up.  Paired with the beautiful Farmers Market DSP, and you got yourself some perfect "peas in a pod." ;-)

 

 

 

 

 

 

1.  2015-2017 In Color Cardstock and Ink Pad Kit.   You’ll get fabulous mileage with these trendy colors that are strutting their stuff everywhere in fashion and home décor.

 

2.  The Color Collections DSP Stacks.  I strongly suggest that everyone have these paper stacks in their collections.  They are a "go to" for designing.  And a fabulous value with 40 sheets in each color collection -- get them all . . . from the In Colors to the color collections themselves; and especially the Neutrals.

 

3.  Envelope Paper.  Make a statement with pretty, coordinating envelopes!  Combine with the Envelope Punch Board (p. 150) and you have a quick and easy “envelope making factory” for both standard and many custom sized envelopes!  Available in the 2015-2017 In Colors and Neutrals (Kraft, Whisper White, Very Vanilla).

 

4.  Whisper White "Thick" cardstock.  For those who want a heavier cardstock for their card bases, than our already 80 lb. cardstock, then this new 100 lb heavy weight Whisper White is for you!!  Folks have been asking for this for a long time -- it's here!!!

 

5.  Ribbons & Trims Galore.  Everyone knows I adore embellishment on my designs!  This year's ribbon collections are fabulous and you really can't go wrong with any of them.  I particularly like our brand new 1" Dotted Lace Trim.  It's just beautiful to work with and lends such an elegant look to designing.  It comes in all five of the brand new In Color set.

 

6.  Metal Rimmed Pearls.  Oh, I love pearls.  And these just add a whole new dimension to pearl embellishment.  They come in 3 different sizes - 24 in a case, 8 of each of the 3 sizes; and they're adhesive-backed taboot!!

 

7.  Triple Banner Punch.  This is the "must have" punch of the season, right next to the Tree Builder punch. Get them both -- you can't go wrong!  The Triple Banner punches 1", 1 1/2" and 2" inch banners with ease.  And with a little ingenuity, you can get yourself a 1/2" one too!  ;-)

 

8.  Gift Bag Punch Board.  I have adored our Envelope and Box punch boards.  This is just the icing on the cake so to speak!  Whip up adorable little "bags" with ease, perfect for gift giving.  Make one to coordinate with a card and you've got a fabulous ensemble. 

 

9.  Tear & Tape Adhesive.  We've been asking for a long time for an easy but strong adhesive tape.  Scor-Tape, of course, can't be beat for it's strength and many size it comes in.  However, for ease of use, the new Tear & Tape is my new adhesive of choice for 3-D designs and creations.

 

10.  Tags & Labels Framelits.  I'm a huge die fan!  I own them all, or make sure that I do.  To make the most use of your Big Shot, I recommend you invest in as many coordinating accessories/tools that you can.  The Tags & Labels Framelits set is one of those "must haves" that you find very useful and versatile in the months ahead.

 

Honorable Mention:

 11.  Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.  Next to framelits/thinlets, I believe TIEFs are the most versatile accessory you can have in your collection.  And probably the easiest to carry with you when traveling, especially if you own the Texture Boutique machine.  We have 4 brand new TIEFs with this catalog, two in a brand new size - 6" x 6".  I highly recommend you get them all.  You will definitely use them!

Garden Treats for the Paper Players

 

Good Morning Fellow Stampers :-)

How is everyone this fine Monday morning?  It's been a beastly hot weekend while I've been on the southwestern side of the state.  Miss Sadie and I have been busily getting to know each other and having puddy dawg adventures.  It will be nice to get home shortly -- although it doesn't appear to be much cooler in temperature on the other side of the mountain range.  Summer has truly arrived it appears.  Now I'm hoping our monsoon season will arrive soon!

 

It's time for the Paper Players [PP250] challenge this week; which I chose to combine with the sketch over at Can  You Case It [CYCI#75] challenge this week.  The Paper Players are challenging us to a "clean and simple" card on a "summer treats" theme.  Now I'm constrained by a couple of things as I work to figure out my design this week.  First, I'm traveling, and so when you're traveling you bring a "selection" of stamps, ink, accessories, hoping you're making the right choices to help you "design on the road."  As when I was in North Dakota, I find it hard to not have my entire Studio "at my fingertips."  On the other hand, it does push you to use what you have and stretch your imagination a little bit.

 

The other thought that occurred to me was that everyone would immediately think of something cool like ice cream as a "summer treat" theme.  I didn't want to create a cliche card; and the reality for me is that a "summer treat" can be as simple as a warm summer evening with a nice breeze and a beautiful sunset.  Things you don't get in the Winter when you're stuck in the house.  Looking at the stamps I had brought with me, I decided to make a "snippet" of a garden -- one of my favorite "summer treats."

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:

• Layerothology.  The one nice thing this week is the "clean and simple" challenge is actually a good thing when working with a few supplies on the road.  This card is cut from Whisper White cardstock, cut on the vertical, 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2".  I used Watermelon Wonder cardstock for my mat background; and a piece of Whisper White with an inset 1/4" scored border for a classy look.  A simple piece of Cherry On Top DSP lined with Watermelon Wonder dotted lace trim gives a simple center line to this front of this card.
  

 

• Garden Blooms.  Using the flowers from the Crazy For You stamp set, I stamped two in Watermelon Wonder, fussy cut them, added the leaves from the set, and after adhering the leaves with SNAIL, I laid some pieces of Jute Ribbon for texture and interest, and then popped the two blooms with dimensionals over the top.  The simple phrase I created with this set make me think of the arrival of Summer.  What a treat!!

 

This design is truly "clean and simple" and easy to put together in a snap!  With the Crazy For You stamp set, you can put any sentiment to the card you want and make it versatile in use.  I hope you have enjoyed today's design!  What do you think of my "on the road" creation?  Did we pull it off?!  Sadie Ann isn't quite sure what to think of Mom's business at the kitchen table and the computer.  She'd rather romp and play I think!

Simply Simple Saturdays - Welcome Miss Sadie!

 

 

Happy Saturday Fellow Stampers  :-)

 

I've been anxiously awaiting this very special Simply Simple Saturdays announcement.  I am excited to introduce to you all the newest member of the Doggone Delightful Stampin' family.  

Please meet Miss Sadie Ann!!!

 

Miss Sadie is coming on about 11 weeks old.  She comes from Montrose, Colorado, born and bred, and is a sweet little Border Collie pup with just a wee bit of Australian Shepherd in her bloodline (we think).  She has proven herself to be quite the little pistol already, quite adventurous, loves to rough-house and play, and I think she's going to be quite a little furry handful -- LOL !!  It turns out Miss Sadie was born in early April -- so we're calling her our little April Miracle -- the one waiting in the wings while disaster struck at home, and we didn't even know she was there waiting -- but Miss Laredo did!!

 

 

 This gettin' up on the bed thing is pretty cool -- Auntie Kelley never let me do that!!!!!

 

 

Let me tell you what I think about this lady who just showed up and snatched me away from Auntie Kelley,

and Cousin Cain, and all the fun I've been havin' for the past three weeks!

She gives me some pretty cool puddy treats though, and bought me some fun new toys.

And I got to ride in the shopping cart at that PetCo place -- that was pretty fun.

I don't think I like my collar though!!

 

 

[oops!  someone doesn't know how to type today -- LOL]

 

There will never truly be a "replacement" for Miss Laredo Mae -- but something tells me she knew, somehow, that this little one had arrived in this world, and it was safe for her to go to Dog Heaven because she knew in her heart that this April Miracle needed a home and would be arriving to take her spot.  I don't know how she knew, but then she seemed to know a lot of things over the years that I could never figure out how she knew.   I'm getting pretty attached pretty fast -- so let's hope Miss Sadie is around for a while, and that she finds her favorite spot in the Studio to supervise just like Laredo did.  Maybe she'll even try her little paws at some "puddy stampin'" -- you never know! ;-)

 

The first weekend immediately following Miss Laredo's passing was just the worst!  I knew I wouldn't be able to have a home without a companion, but my heart was so broken by the events of Laredo's passing, that I just had a hard time imagining anything "taking the place" of my Laredo Mae.  Then my best friend called and said she had a new litter down at the lambing sheds, and to come pick out my new baby.  And all my other wonderful friends stepped up to help and lend support; and so it just seemed to be Providence.   Nothing can ever "replace" Laredo, but I do think there is a spot in our hearts for this new little one; and so we begin a new chapter together.

 

 

We'll be introducing Miss Sadie more in the coming days and weeks -- so keep your eyes open for "puppy snaps" and stories.  Something tells me there are going to be a lot -- and this home is going to be very very hoppin' and busy for awhile, until Miss Sadie learns the ropes and figures everything out!  And outgrows her "puppiness" -- LOL

You're a Whole Lot of Lovely!

Whooo Hooo - TGIF!!  We made it through the week -- and it's an off-Friday for me too!!  :-)  I'm off on a special errand this weekend.  Did you "save the date" for June 19th like I told you too??  You're going to want to stop back by and see what that's all about!!!  Trust me ;-)

 

It's Mojo Monday [MOJO402] challenge time!!  Time to play with another fun sketch!  This design was created right on the heels of my Pals Paper Arts design, and for some reason I was in the groove by then, and this card just "popped" right onto the paper ;-)  LOL   Let's check it out!!

 

 

 

 

Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:

• Layerothology.  Ever hear of happy accidents?  I decided on my color theme fairly quickly for this design; I wanted a calm and soothing browns and blues themes and reached for the beautiful Marina Mist deciding to combine it with the new Tip Top Taupe.  I opened my stash of Marina Mist and discovered this piece of cardstock that was already scored with the Stylish Stripes which turned out to be the perfect background for today's design.  Now I know why I keep all those pieces, parts, and leftovers from all my design work :-)  The card base for this card has been cut from Tip Top Taupe,  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".
  

 

 

 

• Layers of Circles.  This circle series was created using a lovely Tea Lace Doily as an elegant "background, then the 2" and 2 1/2" punches, and a circle from the Circles framelits collection to finish out the series.  The mid-circle was created using a piece of beautiful paper from the 2015-2017 In Color DSP stack.  I adore the refreshed designs in these new collections.  The forefront circle was created with the lovely little sentiment from the A Whole Lot of Lovely stampin' rewards set, stamped out in Marina Mist.  This is such a sweet, simple stamp set.  Get yours today with a minimum qualifying purchase of $150.00.  The rewards for purchasing :-)  The circles are popped with dimensionals against the doily background.

 

 

 

 

• Of Butterflies and Lace.  The fun little vertical "strips" of the sketch are recreated here with the new Smoky Slate 5/8" Chevron Ribbon which gives a lovely "rough" texture to offset the Sahara Sand scalloped lace, the lacey doily and the pearls - kind of that "hard and soft" combination.  The beautiful butterfly has been created with the brand new Bold Butterflies framelits set and layers beautifully against the Marina Mist sentiment in crisp Whisper White.  Don't you love those new metal rimmed pearls?
