Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
Well, we have arrived in Salt Lake City everyone! And the fun has definitely begun. The Pals had their "Sip and Swap" last night. When I get some time to breath and can sit down and look at everyone's wonderful creations, I hope to be able to share a few with you -- including my own.
I'm so excited to be here. So while I'm off in our first General Session at convention this morning, here is the Pals Paper Arts [PPA261] challenge design to inspire you and get you scuttling off to your craft rooms and studios ;) Yes, yes -- I am an enabler!! I admit it!!
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card is cut from Very Vanilla cardstock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". I have laid a layer of Soft Suede and Crushed Curry beneath the beautiful Farmer's Market DSP - this piece showcasing a beautiful collection of plump juicy pears. [I love this DSP ;-) ] The piece is wrapped in a fun piece of ribbon that I bought at Jo-Ann Fabrics some time ago. It's the perfect blend with the Crushed Curry coloring. I love the way it shapes a double bow!
- Triple Circles. I thought the card sketch today was very interesting. This is also one of those times that things just sort of fell into place. I had these circles leftover from something else, and I was actually playing with them a little bit last week. I felt they were perfect to create my 3-tiered circle for this sketch challenge today. What do you think?
- A Whole Lot of Lovely. The wonderful little Stampin' Rewards set, has only 4 images in it, but I love them! What a perfect little sentiment to top off my circle set, stamped in Crushed Curry to accent the pear background, and popped up with dimensionals. This whole scene makes my mouth water for our fresh pears and peaches which should be arriving off the Western Slope of Colorado to Farmers' Markets around the area as we speak. Now I've made myself excited to get home and go get some fresh Colorado produce -- LOL ;-)
So what do you think of today's design? Is it a "bowl of fruit lucsious?" ;-) Or are pears not your thing? I had someone say it was "too busy" for them -- do you feel the same? Would you have used a different background paper? I'm loving all our beautiful designer series papers this year. I'm having a hard time deciding which of the Farmers' Market or English Garden I like best :) I liked this paper and thought it looked good in this design. I'd love to hear your thoughts ;-)
I hope everyone has a nice Thursday. We'll be busy in our sessions today. Tonight is Awards Night -- I'll try to get some great pics to share with all of you :-) Best of all -- we get to see the new Holiday Occasions Catalog today -- whooo hoooo -- now that's something to get excited about!! I can hardly wait to see what SU! has in store for us this Fall. So many wonderful products, so little time ;-)
Until Next Time . . .
