Hello Everyone -
Well, it's been an interesting Saturday. I've been pretty exhausted today and really haven't accomplished much I have to admit. I guess we all need a "down" day once in awhile to just rest. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time before I leave for Convention and a lot on the "to do list" yet -- so I feel guilty for having not accomplished much today. We'll see what the evening brings.
I just wanted to pop in to share a little bit with from our class last night. What a wonderful group of ladies; and so much fun we had! My summer classes this season are focused on all the wonderful new kits introduced in the new 2015 Annual Catalog -- and the Tin of Cards is absolutely fabulous!
Turns out -- this kit is the most popular kit Stampin' Up! has ever introduced. It far exceeded any forecasting by Stampin' Up! and sold out months worth of inventory in a matter of only a few weeks. It's been on the Backorder Report for some time. Stampin' Up! has been scrambling to get inventory in fast enough to respond to demand. I am lucky to have received my order for these lovely ladies when I did. We were able to have our class now instead of later in August -- so that made me very happy! :-) And them as well!
If you haven't checked out this kit yet in the Stampin' Up! 2015 Annual Catalog, you should take a closer look. The tin is beautiful -- and a good size to hold a nice amount of cards. The dividers are a heavy cardstock, nice and sturdy. You get everything you need in the kit to create your dividers and 16 cards. The other items you would need to complete this fun project is the Tin of Cards stamp set, and the Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Mint Macaron, and Memento Tuxedo Black ink pads.
We had some new stampers join us last evening. My regulars were so gracious to help, give pointers, and share adhesive. These gals did a fabulous job their first time out -- and I'm excited to have them join this wonderful group of gals!! If you are looking for a local group to join and share with, I'd love to have you attend my classes. I love my "girls" - :-)
So I want to take a few minutes today and do a "product focus" on the Tin of Cards kit -- I just think not only is this a fabulous kit all the way around, it also makes a wonderful gift!!
My customers often ask me what are the colors features in kits -- the colors primarily used in this kit are : Mint Macaron, Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay, and Cucumber Crush, along with Gold Foil and Kraft. You basic neutral is White.
One of the things I enjoy is "thinking outside the box" on any kit we have. So, although I enjoyed creating the designs as indicated in the instructions with the kit; I also played with the pieces and parts and mixed things up a little bit. I always encourage my classes to be creative and step outside the "preset" samples given to them. Let's take a little look at what I did with these fun designs (I also saw some wonderful things my gals did last night that I thought were very innovative)!!
One suggestion I would offer is to look at all the pieces and parts of your kit and think about how you can use "everything." For example, save the "hearts" you will punch out of the middle of these "precut" card front designs. You can use them for something else. Also, in a little bit you will see a card where we punched "gold bars" out of a gold foil piece for the front of that card design. I used one of those "gold bars" here on the lower card to frame my banner greeting.
I mixed things up here a little bit by using the smaller images in the stamp set along with my sentiments on the wooden bubbles, and mixing in the clear stars and gold metallic thread from other card designs and using those here. I also incorporated the Itty Bitty Butterfly punch with Bermuda Bay cardstock to embellish one card front (and added my signature pearls) :-)
The Gold Foil card is really fun -- Here's a close up of an "outside the box" idea !
This card design is my favorite I think -- but I am a huge butterfly lover!
What I love about this card, is that SU! has incorporated all our wonderful butterfly punches and dies into this card design. Which means, if you want to create more like this, it's easy to do by purchasing the coordinating tools :-)
I've included the wonderful video here from SU! showing how to make each of the basic cards in this kit :
The highlight of this lovely kit is the tin itself. I love anything that "organizes" my life; and this definitely is one of those products. I'm going to love having this Mint Macaron tin around my Studio for a long time to come. I look forward to refilling the categories with my own creations; and how easy to reach for when I need a card quickly for a special person.!
If you want this beautiful kit, place your order through me today HERE at my store front. New inventory is arriving weekly; and the sooner you get on the backorder list, the sooner you will get your set in hand :-)
Let me know how I can help you with your paper passion. I'd be honored to be your Demonstrator of choice.
Have a great Saturday everyone!!
Until Next Time . . .
