Hello Fellow Stampers -
What a crazy wild ride and week this has been! Last night was Awards Night and the After Party here at Convention in Salt Lake City. It was awards show "Roaring 20's" Style :-) We were encouraged to dress up for the evening, and boy we did!! And what fun we had.
Here I am with some of the fabulous Pals -- Lots of fun!! :-)
In the meantime, while we are in another day of fun and learning here in SLC, it's time for the Mojo Monday [MOJO407] challenge this week. I couldn't leave you without a fun design to end your week :-) Even better, I'm using some new and some not so new products in this design -- some items I really just adore!!
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card base is cut from Whisper White cardstock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". The background is two layers of green - Mossy Meadow as the back mat piece; Old Olive in the foreground. The Old Olive cardstock has been embossed with the new Beautifully Baroque TIEF. I do love this new embossing folder!! Fabulous!! A piece of the beautiful English Garden DSP was cut for the upper half of the foreground. The two halves are pulled together with the gorgeous new 5/8" Striped Ribbon -- this one in Mossy Meadow!! You will love this new ribbon.
- Blossoms. The new Birthday Blossoms stamp set is one that caught my eye early on when the new catalog came out in June. I haven't used it much yet, but that may be changing very quickly ;-) In this focal point I used the leaves from that set and created a background using Old Olive ink which I stamped off first before stamping onto my cardstock. I then used this lovely sentiment from that set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink as an "overlay." But my favorite part of this design is the Petite Petals, Flower Shop, and Beautiful Bunch flowers. These "oldie but goodies" are solid "go to's" and must haves in your inventory. I love that they all have coordinating punches (which makes ease of use); and that they work beautifully with the new English Garden DSP and with the new Birthday Blossom set. In fact, Birthday Blossoms, coordinates with the Pansy punch. Fabulous!!! These flowers are stamped in a combination of Daffodil Delight and Delightful Dijon inks.
- Lots of Labels. Did you catch the other neat item in the focal point? How about those new Lots of Labels framelits!! ?? !! Love, Love, Love! These were cut "off the edge" of the cardstock, so that I got the beautiful scrolled edge on only one side; and then by cutting in three colors, I layered them together for a lovely look. The entire piece along with the flowers is popped with dimensionals. I finished off with pearls, of course ;-)
So what do you think of my "green" design today ;-) I love Old Olive and Mossy Meadow together; and the warmth of these yellows just seems to make this card "glow." I this makes for a nice "late summer" birthday card. I hope you have enjoyed this today and feel inspired to pull out those "older" punches and stamp sets and combine them with the new!
We'll be having fun here in SLC as the hours are ticking down. Soon it will be time to go home -- hard to believe how fast time can fly!! I'll be coming home brimming with fun news about our new Holiday Occasions catalog and so many new ideas. Looking forward to sharing with everyone.
Have a great Friday everyone!!
Until Next Time . . .
