Good Morning Fellow Stampers :-)
We've made it past the halfway point of the week -- whoo hooo :-) We've had a taste of Fall here this week -- beautiful cool weather the past several days; and breaking record lows at night, which has been a little wake-up call -- the season is changing! The local television station is running a contest for your best guess of when we'll get our first snow fall here in town. Should be interesting . . .
It is Pals Paper Arts [PPA264] challenge time. And I think it's time for a sneak peak of the wonderful things to come in a couple short weeks. Are you ready?? ;-)
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. The cardbase for this card is cut from heavy Whisper White cardstock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". The background layers are Basic Black, Crumb Cake, and a piece of designer paper from the Go Wild DSP stack. This sets the perfect background for the elegant focal point we'll look at next :-)
- Wonderland. The brand new Wonderland stamp set is a beautiful stamp set that is going to be a perfect compliment to the very popular Lovely As A Tree. You will greatly enjoy this set. I'm sure you'll being seeing it a fair amount from me this Fall :-) I used the tree image from this set today, to create the focal point of this design. It is stamped in Tip Top Taupe on Shimmery White cardstock, and then embossed with clear embossing powder. The background trees are stamped off once; with the foreground trees being full ink for a darker offset. The panel was then cut into three pieces (the outer pieces being smaller than the center piece), and matted with Basic Black, before being laid on the background layers, and wrapped with Crumb Cake 3/8" stitched satin ribbon, and a bow. Small pearls adorn the trees on the outer panels.
This is one of those designs where I left any type of "sentiment" off the front of the card. Sometimes a design stands on its own and a sentiment would detract from the focus. This card is best left as it stands, and leaving the wording for the inside; maybe even as a "blank" notecard where you can write you own special message.
In some regards this card is "simple" as the design comes together easily; in others, there is detail that makes it special :-) I hope you have enjoyed today's design. As always, I'm only an email away if you have any questions about my designs, or need assistance with anything.
Have a wonderful day everyone!
Until Next Time . . .
