Good Morning Stampers :-)
Happy Monday!! Here we go -- another week ahead; and the last week of August too! Can you believe this entire month is behind us? We go flying into the Fall season and the holidays ahead. It is just really hard to wrap my mind around right now.
The last day has felt so much like Autumn. I cool my house at night with an all house attic fan; and yesterday morning I woke up and it was 55 degrees inside the house. I had to grab my warm fuzzy winter robe, it was downright cold -- LOL ;-) Although 92 is in our forecast for today and tomorrow, I am very ready for cooler weather, crisp evenings, apple cider, and turning leaves.
So for today's Paper Players [PP259] challenge, I decided it was time to pull out those leaves and start playing ;-)
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card is cut from Very Vanilla cardstock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". The background layers are Lost Lagoon matting, with an overlay from the new In the Woods DSP. Don't you love it!!?? :-) The little background pennant is also from the In the Woods DSP. Using the circles framelits, I then created a background for my focal point using Lost Lagoon an Very Vanilla, and embossing the Very Vanilla with the new Woodlands TIEF, and then sponging the raised embossing with Early Espresso.
- Array of Leaves. It is finally time to pull out one of my most favorite sets from this year's Annual Catalog -- the Vintage Leaves set, which has a lovely set of framelits to match it. I love leaves, and I knew the minute I saw this set, I had to have it. The various leaves are stamped in Early Espresso on Mossy Meadow, Delightful Dijon, Lost Lagoon, and Tip Top Taupe, then cut with the Leaflets framelits. The leaves were then scored down their centers, and layered on the card front using my favorite go to adhesive - glue dots - with linen thread intertwined between the layers. Pearls finish off my leaf bunch :-)
- Another Sneak Peak. The fun sentiment for this design was snatched from the brand new Cheer All Year stamp set. This is a lovely versatile stamp set, and I thought this was the perfect sentiment for my little card :-) It is stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla, and slipped in behind the leaves with dimensionals.
I hope you have enjoyed today's design :-) I had fun creating it. I look forward to using these leaves a lot more in the weeks to come. What makes you think of Fall? I'd love to read your comments :-)
Stay tuned -- we still have some catching up to do this week, including announcing who won the Blog Candy from last week. Have a great Monday everyone!
Until Next Time . . .
