Howdy Fellow Stampers -
You're probably wondering where I've been for the past some days. Not as far away as you might think. Unfortunately, I was just so frantically busy Friday, Saturday and Sunday that I had absolutely no time left to concentrate on keeping up with you all. I feel bad. I was so very far behind from being sick these past couple weeks, and I had my Holiday Catalog Premier event yesterday afternoon --and so much to do to get ready for it. I wanted it to feel a little bit like Convention when you come for a Catalog Premier at my home ☺ That means displays of all our wonderful new product, make-n-takes, the chance to play with new products and try them, and so much more! My group even got to see a clip from Convention in July.
Here's a picture of one of my displays
Unfortunately, getting to this point meant "working overtime" -- LOL. I started prepping on Friday. On Saturday I began to realize I was in trouble. I stayed up until 2:30 am on Sunday morning; slept for 4 hours; and then got back up at 6:30 am. Somehow, with a little help at the 11th hour, I pulled it off. But I have to tell you, I realized today that I'm not 28 anymore; I'm not 38 anymore either -- LOL. Apparently I'm not able to pull a 36-hour, 4 hours of sleep, stint anymore. Today I woke up exhausted despite going to bed at 8:30 the night before, and I had vertigo really bad. I ended up at the chiropractor and then home on the couch. I have slept most of today. I guess I'll have to admit I'm getting old!
I did finally feel well enough late this afternoon to spend a little time in the Studio and put together today's Paper Players [PP260] challenge design. By the time you read this post later this evening, I'll be back in bed on my heating pad, and soundly back to sleep. I'm hoping to be back to my old self tomorrow, and we'll be working to get back on schedule around here ☺
This week's Paper Players challenge is a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge. Let's see if you can figure out what row or column I decided to feature
This is also my final "Sneak Peak" before our beautiful catalog goes live in the morning!! Are you excited?
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. Today I created a clean layered card as I call it. Although I have several layers and dimensions to the card, there is not a lot of "fuss". This card base is cut from Very Vanilla cardstock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". The background layers are Tip Top Taupe and Mint Macaron, which has been embossed with the new Softly Falling TIEF. In this case, I turned the embossing "around" instead of having it look like falling snow. I just thought the texture would look nice in the background.
- Lighthearted Leaves. Have you checked out the new Lighthearted Leaves stamp set yet? Did you know that it coordinates with our Leaflets framelits in our Annual Catalog? I used one of the lovely images from that set here in a simple "stem" stamped in Mint Macaron on Very Vanilla and matted with Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe. This vertical rectangle is popped with dimensionals over an edging of Tip Top Taupe Lace.
- The really lovely sentiment is also from the new Lighthearted Leaves stamp set. "Believe" is stamped in Mint Macaron on Very Vanilla also, and then cut with the Circles framelits, and matted with Mint Macaron. The circle set is also popped with dimensionals to lay even with the vertical piece. Tiny pearls adorn the fern leaf stem; but sequins from one of our lovely kits in the Annual Catalog are used on the sentiment circle, and then topped with pearls.
