Hello Fellow Stampers -
Well, here we are - the end of October -- Halloween already!! Just so hard to believe. Fifty-four days until Christmas, -- yes, 54! Eeeeeek. Now is when I start a little bit of panicking when I realize just how much I've got to do in the next six to seven weeks. I know I need to sit down and make a list, and start workin'! How about you?
The weather has cooled in the past several weeks; especially after the sun sets in the evening. There's a definite dip to the air temperature during the night hours. And the trees are turning beautiful colors all around town. This is definitely one of my favorite times of year -- except for it dark so early; and light so late in the morning! I decided a week ago that I should take some pictures of my garden and little yard before our first frost arrived -- it's quite late this year to not have had our first frost yet.
Turns out it was a good thing I did. Our first frost arrived on Tuesday night; and of course the very first things to go are the Impatience and Potato Vines; so today while it is beautiful (mid-60's) and sunny, I'll start the Fall garden clean up and clean out. Time to pull all the annuals, and rake the leaves that are starting to gather; do some pruning and prep the grass for Winter. I always feel sad when the beautiful flowers are done for the year; it seems very "blank" in the garden. Leaves more to look forward to for Spring I guess. I'm planting some new bulbs this Fall; we'll see what pokes its head in March 😉
Today was the final day of Farmer's Marker. So I made one last spin through the last of the fresh veggies from our local farmers for the year; picked up some last fresh biscuits for Miss Sadie; and in general made my good-bye's for 2015. That's sort of depressing too -- LOL.
It's time to make Applesauce!!! The last thing I'll put up this Fall for the long months ahead. A fresh box of apples have arrived home from the Palisade produce booth. Mmmm mmmm -- maybe some baked apples tonight for Halloween are in order!! I'll be busy this afternoon, that's for sure!! Lots of catching up to do around here.
Little Miss Sadie Ann is doing very well too -- although we have the sniffles this week (a little puppy cold). She graduated from Puppy Kindergarten a couple weeks ago with flying colors; and now we go to puppy day camp to take all the wiggles out while mom is at work. We're still working on things, like jumping, and "come" when mom calls; but overall for a 7 month-old pup, she is doing incredibly well. I'm really proud of her!! She's a sweetheart through and through; a total snuggle bug at night; and I'm afraid I've fallen in love all over again -- and although I still miss Miss Laredo, the holes in the heart appear to be filling.
It's time for a little catch-up after our "week off," so hang tight and stay tuned. I'll be back later today with a final post for Craft Project Central including a special card design, and a drawing for a free month's subscription to CPC. That will be up a little later this evening.
In the meantime -- if you're still scrambling to make some fun give-aways for Halloween this evening, how about my fun "herd" of Curvy Keepsake box Jack-o-Lanterns -- heeheehee
Sometimes I think we forget about the wonderful products we already have because we're so busy with the "what's new" in the newest and latest catalog. The fabulous Curvy Keepsake Box thinlet die that came out last Fall was one of my very favorites -- and is still available in the Annual Catalog!! Better yet, this fun jack-o-lantern is easier to make than ever with the image from the new Sparkly Seasons stamp set. The "stripes" on the pumpkins are created using the Chalk Lines stamp set; of course our beautiful little Spider Web Doilies are incorporated as part of the Witches hat which is created using the 2 1/2" circle punch and the Tree punch and our beautiful new Black Glimmer paper. How about our Bow Builder Punch? Have been using yours? It was on sale a couple weeks ago -- and is a fabulous easy tool!! Love it!!
Even better -- the tags are created with the Lots of Labels framelits and the stamp set from the September Paper Pumpkin. This is an exclusive stamp set to the kit only; so if you want these cool stamp sets, you've got to get signed up!!
Pretty fun, huh??!! 😉
Alright -- we'll be back a little later -- in the meantime, Miss Sadie and I are getting ready to go out and check out the neighborhood and see what ghosts and goblins might be floating about -- Happy Halloween everyone!!
Until Next Time . . .
