Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
How is everyone today? Still recovering from Turkey hangovers? Are you ready for all the Black Friday sales? My Black Friday forays are minimal, done very early, and then I'm done, and cozy back home and don't have to deal with crowds or nonsense!! LOL. My annual trek to Home Depot to stock up on .99 cent Poinsettia's is my Must! Beyond that, I'm not too much into this whole craziness. However, today will kick off my holiday decorating -- that is my tradition. Once the Thanksgiving Day is over, it's time to put away Fall around the house, and start unpacking those Christmas decoration boxes. I'd love to get the Christmas tree up today -- we'll see how far I really get with all these aspirations.
It's Mojo Monday [MOJO425] challenge time -- and now that we are officially in full swing into the Christmas season, I pulled out all the stops on today's card design! I hope you will enjoy it.
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card base is cut from "heavy" Whisper White cardstock. Pinterest inspired my gold and white color choices today. The background layer is Gold Foil, and then a layer of Whisper White overlaid with a piece of Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum. I cut these specifically so that the Whisper White backs the vellum, and shows through the pattern, but not beyond the edge. Instead, you see Gold Foil around the edges, and I like that! This background layering is wrapped with a beautiful Gold Satin ribbon strip.
- Reason for the Season. I am head over heels for the new Reason for the Season stamp set and the coordinated Festive Flower Builder Punch. For this design, I used only the medium, and the small double petal from the punch, worked onto a 1 1/2" circle. The flower veins were stamped in Versamark and embossed with Gold embossing powder. The piece is popped with dimensionals over Gold Cording Trim on a background layering of Gold Foil and Brushed Gold cardstock (retired). Then I created a "tag" with just the "Merry Christmas" part of one of the sentiments out of the set. What you can't see here is that the top of my tag is punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch. And then, if you look closely, I very carefully punched the corners on each side at the end with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch, giving me just a cute little notch.
- Again, the sentiment was Versamarked and Gold embossed. You can do this by masking out the portion of the stamp you don't want with sticky notes, and then removing them after you've inked up the portion of the stamp you do want -- then go ahead and stamp 😊 I finished off my tag with Gold Cording trim and attached it to the double Gold Satin bow, then attached the entire piece with glue dots.
- Finishing Touch. No card is complete without a few pearls -- at least that's what I think most of the time! LOL These pearls, settled in the center of the flower, were colored with the Gold Dazzle markers that were retired this last year. I'm always glad when I hold onto certain items despite their retirement. These are items I reach for again and again. I love them! Wait for the pearls to dry completely, and move them with the tip of your Paper Snips so as to not accidentally rub off the color. Perfect!!
I love how this card turned out and how absolutely rich and elegant it looks. I hope you like it too!! 😊 I'd love to know what you think. Won't you leave me a comment today?
I hope everyone has a fabulous holiday weekend; and that you get all those wonderful project finished!
As Mary would say, Paper Hugs to you all!!
Until Next Time . . .
