Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
Happy Monday morning! Whew! What a whirlwind of a holiday weekend! I don't think I got nearly as much done as I had hoped; I did get some rest however. How about everyone else? How are the turkey leftovers coming along? I'm planning some yummy crockpot recipes for my turkey leftovers.
It's time to kick off the week with the Paper Players [PP273] challenge. This week is a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge -- kind of fun!!!
Now how convenient that I played at Michael's this weekend during the Black Friday sales - it's hard to resist all the fun little d00-dads and sparkly contraband - LOL!! I had some fun, and when I was looking at today's challenge, and some of the little items I picked up over the weekend, I just couldn't resist playing. Turns out my finished design works well with either the left-hand column straight up and down; or on the diagonal from the upper left-hand corner. Let's take a look!
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card base is cut from heavy Whisper White cardstock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". The background layering, which really sets the basis for the focal point of this design, is inspired by the fun sparkly die-cut snowflakes I picked up from Michael's -- Gold Foil, Island Indigo, Whisper White, overlaid with a beautiful piece of Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum paper. I love the rich and elegant feel to this color combination.
- Snow Flurries. I fell in love with these stacked snowflakes at the store the other day. When I was matching up the coloring to our Stampin' Up! colors, imagine my surprise at how beautifully they worked with the Island Indigo coloring. I just couldn't stop the flow of creativity when I was designing this card yesterday afternoon. The designer vellum with the gold snowflakes in it was the perfect backdrop for my glittery snowflake ensemble. This retired satin ribbon in Island Indigo from Sale-a-Bration a couples years ago made the perfect triple bow; and "oh what fun" --- I snagged some "sleigh bells" from the Oh What Fun Tag kit. I adore this fun and sweet card. The sentiment is also from the Oh What Fun stamp set. I stamped it first in Encore Gold metallic ink, and then overlaid it in Island Indigo. I clipped the bottom corners with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch. The Michael's snowflakes come already on dimensionals -- so popping them on the front of the design was really easy!!
Don't you just love it??!! LOL Contraband is fun sometimes!! Especially when it plays so nicely with your other supplies.
The inside of the card is stamped with a lovely sentiment from Cozy Christmas and a flurry of gold snowflakes from the Wonderland stamp set.
I hope you have enjoyed this fun card today! This is definitely not one you send in a regular envelope. A special padded envelope will be required to get those sleigh bells dashing through the snow, er, I mean mail!! LOL
