Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
TGIF!! Don't you agree?? 😊 Today I'll be digging in and cleaning carpets, and taking a big batch of stuff off to the Goodwill charity again, and just tying up miscellaneous assundry things that I've been working on. I'm intent on getting this house ready now for the quickly approaching holiday season, and Christmas decorating in another week!! Wish me luck!! I'm already running behind this morning -- ugh!!
It's Mojo Monday [MOJO424] challenge time. I am fully into enjoying all these wonderful goodies from the Holiday Occasions catalog now! I'm just lovin' it actually! Today I broke out a stamp set I hadn't gotten to use yet. The beautiful and very "vintage" All Ye Faithful. What a beautiful, simple stamp set!! I also brought in pieces and parts from two other stamp sets for today's design. Let's go check it out !! 😊
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card base is cut from Very Vanilla cardstock, on the vertical - 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2" (a top fold card). I decided on a simple "sheer" background layer of Winter Wonderland Designer Series Vellum - this one a very delicate scattering of gold dots. The edges of both the cardstock and vellum are sponged with Crumb Cake ink using a sponge dauber.
- All Ye Faithful. The focal point of my card is the 3-Wisemen image from the All Ye Faithful stamp set, stamped in Soft Suede Ink on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 4 1/8" x 2 1/2". The corners are punched with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch, and backed with a piece of Gold Foil measuring the same. The Very Vanilla piece is also sponged with Crumb Cake before being adhered to the foil. This measurement just brings the piece right to the edge of the vellum background behind it, and lines everything up nicely.
- Bethlehem Star. I created my very own Bethlehem star using images and parts of images from the Berry Merry stamp set. Isn't that kind of cool??!! 😊 The image is versamarked and then embossed with Gold embossing powder. Again, I sponged my little square with Crumb Cake ink, and I rounded the corners with the Project Life Corner Rounder. I trimmed this piece right around the image, so giving you specific measurements would be difficult. You kind of have to play with it, because it's not an exact measurement. It is "popped" with dimensionals.
- Believe In the Miracle. This is where I brought in my third stamp set -- the perfect sentiment for my little design scene from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set. Inked in Soft Suede, it is cut out with a 2" circle punch; with a coordinating 2" Gold Foil circle offset with it. This little setup is also popped with dimensionals over strands of Gold Metallic thread.
- Finishing Touches. The beautiful Gold 1" Glitter ribbon create perfect little banners for me in the upper-right-hand of the card. Pearls scattered appropriately finish off this elegant and vintage design.
- Turn to the Inside. I emulated the "feel" of the front of the card on the inside, using Gold Foil, sponging techniques, and the Curvy Corner Trio Punch once again. I finished off with the beautiful sentiment from the All Ye Faithful stamp set.
I hope you have enjoyed today's card design. I really love how this turned out, and wish you could see it in person. It's beautiful. I'm contemplating creating a number of these for special folks for my Christmas card this year. What do you think?
