Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
Happy Weekend!! How is everyone this fabulous Saturday? We're waking up this morning to the coldest overnight we've had so far this Fall -- 25 degrees -- brrrrrrrrrr. I think it best Miss Sadie and I stay tucked inside and warm!
Yesterday was an off-Friday for me. And lots of cleaning occurred around the house. Some more deep Fall cleaning in the master bedroom; hopefully I'll find my way through the dust around here soon - haha. It seems coming off a long Summer of open windows and fresh air leaves lots to clean and do! I'm also continuing to work on my major "clean out" and "lightening of the load" in my closets, cupboards, and shelves. It's an ongoing process, but every week I let go of a few more things, and find a little more space. This past week I took a stack of seven cookbooks to the Library donation (some of them big thick ones that I've never used) -- it's amazing how much just something that simple can help make things feel less "cramped."
Today is my annual ornament class. This class and my Christmas card stamp-a-stack are two of my most popular classes. It's a lot of fun! 😊 I think this is one of my favorites classes to design and create for. Plus, in the process, I'm kick-starting my own holiday gift-making. Which is a good thing since it's already a week into November -- LOL! There are a lot of options for these beautiful ornaments this year. I'm going to present a couple "simpler" ones today so that the crafters get a sense of how to make a basic ornament; and then they go home with their beautiful ornament stamp sets and dies and can play some more and make ornaments as intricate as they like. So we're busily getting ready and prepped here this morning; and Miss Sadie would rather play ball -- LOL!!
So my ladies will gather to make beautiful ornaments today. We'll be playing with the gorgeous new Delicate Ornaments dies, and Embellished Ornaments stamp set; and we're also going to play with the beautiful Festive Flower Builder Punch. This is not a class for the faint of heart -- LOL! But it is a lot of fun!
And to sustain my lovely ladies, I've made lunch today -- which is always a lot of fun. I greatly enjoy cooking and serving people. The house smells wonderful this morning as my pork loin has been cooking all night. So, what am I serving today? A little b-b-q shredded pork loin, over a bun, some Cole slaw, and some other fun sides. It smells divine! There is apple cider steeping on the stove to keep us snuggly and warm, and some good old-fashioned homemade Kuchen (that's a german pastry for those who don't know) to feed my ladies when they first arrive. Now don't you wish you were here??? LOL 😏
I'll be showcasing a more intricate ornament on the blog in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, I have to keep things a little more simple for my poor ladies; can't overwhelm them out of the chute! LOL Here's today's simple recipe so you too can enjoy this luscious b-b-q in your own home. Just pull out the crock pot!! Have fun!
Pork Loin B-B-Q
One Pork Loin Roast (boneless)
1 Cup Orange Juice
Spices: Oregano, Thyme, Capitol Hill Seasoning*
Cook on Low setting in Crock Pot until "shreddable." Then shred and mix with Sweet Baby Ray's B-B-Q sauce (or b-b-q sauce of your choice); heat through thoroughly and server over fresh buns.
*Capitol Hill Seasoning is a seasoning mix that I get at a wonderful spice shop here in Littleton, Colorado, called Savory Spice Shop. It basically is a mix of dried Shallots, salt, pepper, dill, dried parsley and dried chives. It's Magnifico!!
Happy cooking, happy Saturday, and happy crafting everyone!!
Until Next Time . . .
