Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
TGIF!! It's a Friday the 13th -- hmmmmmmmm; and we've approached the middle of November -- can you believe that?! WoW!! Craziness! I'm hoping to get a fair amount done over the weekend ahead. Crossing my fingers for lots of creative time! How about all of you? I'd love to hear what your plans are for the weekend!
Today is Mojo Monday [MOJO423] challenge time -- another fun sketch and I had a lot of fun pulling together wonderful toys from the current Holiday catalog and playing! Let's see what you think! 😉
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card base is cut from heavy Whisper White cardstock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4", turned on the horizontal (top fold). The background layers for this card is Garden green, cut 4 1/8" x 5 3/8", topped with a piece of Brushed Silver cardstock (retired), embossed with the Woodland TIEF. I have always loved the subtle "glimmer" to our brushed cardstocks, and was disappointed when they retired them this past spring. So I'm hoarding what little I have -- LOL -- and love to use it this time of year. I specifically chose this color as a backdrop to the vertical strip of Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum I wanted to coordinate and showcase on this card -- in this case the cool green foil trees.
- Glitzy Glimmer. A piece of the beautiful White 3/8" Glitter Ribbon creates my "banner" behind my popped up focal piece. This ribbon is so pretty -- I hope you have given it a try! It creates the perfect accent here by not detracting from the other pieces that I want to show in the design.
- Peaceful Pine. Have you given this new stamp set and coordinating die set a try yet? If not, you're missing out on a fabulous bundle. For my focal point, I cut a 2 1/2" square piece of White White, and framed it with Garden Green; I then cut the corners of the Whisper White piece with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch, and SNAILed the two pieces together. I then chose this cute little tree from the Peaceful Pines stamp set, stamped it in Garden Green on Whisper White, and cut it out with the coordinated Perfect Pines framelits die set. The center square is popped with dimensionals over the ribbon; and the tree is popped again on the square. Embellished with Iced Rhinestones, it's just plain fun! Using this cute sentiment from the same stamp set, I Versamarked the sentiment, and then embossed it with Silver embossing powder. It's punched out with a 1" circle, which fits perfectly inside a smaller Silver Metallic Doily, which is popped with a dimensional to put it at the same level as the square and adhered in place. Wahlah!! All done!
In many ways, this design was simple and easy to put together, with just enough detail to really make it special and a "wow" card for the recipient. What do you think? Do you like the Silver and Green combination? I'd love to read your comments - -I do read them and cherish every one!
