Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
Hello!! And how is everyone! Whew -- we've been taking quite a break from the blog and website here at DDS Studios. I don't usually stay away this long from at least some playing and designing. And we are still very busy - but more about that in a minute.
First, I want to say thank you to the many of you who dropped me an email or a left a message here on the blog wishing me a Merry Christmas and thanking me for all the creative inspiration this year. You are so very welcome; I do appreciate each and every one of you!! I am especially grateful for my customer base and those who support me each and every day in this endeavor!! We have lots of fun and exciting things come this first quarter of 2016 and I'm looking forward to our time together.
As you have been reading through this past year, I've been doing a lot of sorting and cleaning out in my Studio room. I've been working on this toward a reorganization of this room, and thanks to Santa, that project has begun this week. This is a huge undertaking. Also a little overwhelming. I'll talk more about this later this week. Right now I'm trying to maintain at least a spot to do design work for the blog, while all the other commotion is beginning and ongoing.
In the meantime, we're heading back to some creativity, which is always good!! It's time for thank you cards -- you need those cards to thank for wonderful gifts, and to thank hosts and hostesses for wonderful get-togethers and other events. So I have the first of several fun cards this week for these purposes.
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card base is cut from "heavy" Whisper White cardstock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". I created a double-layered background piece of Real Red and Whisper White (regular weight), each cut in 1/8" from the layer behind it. This card then becomes a CAS design, with lots of white space and clean simplicity!
- Poinsettia Tag. I very purposely picked a Red and Green theme for this card. I mean, we are sending thank you's very specifically for the Christmas season, right??!! LOL -- I used this lovely image from the Reason for the Season stamp set to create this design. I like these flowers because of their 3-step stamping process, and the very "impressionistic" watercolor look. I cut the tag from a piece of 2" x 4 1/4" Whisper White cardstock, punched with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch. Then laid over the Whisper White background, I stamped the 3 images in sequence overlapping my tag and the background. The outlined image is done in Silver Metallic Encore ink, with the fill-in images done in Garden Green and Real Red. The sentiment is from Another Thank You - a really fabulous sentiment set. I then lined everything up and popped the tag up with dimensionals, A few pearls finish everything off of course!
Of course, finishing off your envelope with a cute designer paper liner is a must!!
So there you go! That's all for today -- we'll be back throughout the week as we get back on track here. I'll share more with you on the Studio makeover on Wednesday. I'm very excited about finally getting going on this plan I've been laying out for some months.
Talk to you all soon!! Have a great Monday!
Until Next Time . . .
