Good Evening Fellow Stampers -
Happy New Year's Eve!! I'm sorry this coming to you so late today -- I had good intentions earlier this morning; and then got waylaid with work on the Studio reorganization, and running errands this afternoon looking for more items for that project. This is the first time today I've really stopped and put my feet up for a few minutes. Too crazy!! Reality is I only have 3 days left of my Holiday Break -- eeeeeeeek! And I just have so much I want to accomplish yet! I may not get it all done; and I may have to accept that.
As we usher our 2015 this evening, and bring in a new year, I hope each of you has wonderful plans, and friends and family around you! It has certainly been quite a year, as I look back and reminisce. So much has happened with the loss of Miss Laredo, and the arrival of Miss Sadie. Home is still the best place to be as far as I'm concerned. And I count my many blessings.
I wanted to bring you another one of my Thank You cards before the year ends. This is another one of the cards my ladies made at the Customer Appreciation Event this past Tuesday evening.
This lovely design incorporates the beautiful Winter Wonderland specialty DSP and designer vellum both.
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card is cut from heavy Whisper White cardstock, 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2" - a top fold vertical card. Using a piece of the Winter Wonderland designer vellum of choice, carefully attach glue dots behind the images to "hide" them and attach to the front of the card front. This piece is cut the full size of the front of the card, 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". The middle layer is a piece of the Winter Wonderland specialty designer series paper, sized 2 1/2" x 3 1/2", and matted with a piece of Basic Black, an 1/8" wider around. The layer is wrapped with a beautiful piece of Gold 5/8" Satin Ribbon, and popped with dimensionals. A bow finishes off that piece; but we won't do that until last.
- Endless Thanks. The beautiful little stamp set, Endless Thanks, is my sentiment stamp set of choice here. The elegant font of this stamp set lends itself perfectly to this design. The set comes with the cute banner image, which I stamped with Encore Gold Metallic ink, and then lined up the sentiment inside and along the lower edge with Archival Basic Black. This is easy to do because the set is photopolymer. The piece is then fussycut, and popped with dimensionals, creating a gentle curve to banner while attaching. Pearls are the final touch along with the bow to the front of this card.
- Turn to the Inside. On the inside of this card, I used two images from Wonderland stamp set, inked in Encore Gold Metallic ink, and created a picturesque "snowfall" across the center of the card, stamped off slightly so you can write your personal note over the top. The matting is created with the Brushed Gold cardstock which retired last year. Very elegant!!
Here is a version where I matched the vellum pattern to the specialty DSP pattern. Very cool!! ;-)
Don't forget to line your envelope using the Envelope Liner Thinlets dies!! I used a different piece of the Winter Wonderland designer vellum here -- in a black patter for a lovely offset of elegance to the card.
I hope you feel inspired by today's design! Happy New Year everyone!! Be safe, and enjoy your evening!
Until Next Time . . .
