Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
Happy Monday! We are in the midst of a doozy of a snowstorm here to kick off February! However, we don't panic too much over the potential 16 inches of snow that could be coming over the next 24 hours. In fact, we all still have to go to work -- LOL This is pretty normal winter weather around here; Coloradans are hearty folks and used to the comings and goings of the snowflakes. 😉
So while we're all snuggled in, it is Paper Players [PP280] challenge time to kick off the week! This week is a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge.
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card is cut from Very Vanilla cardstock, 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2" - a top fold, vertical card. It seems this is my cut of choice lately. It appeals to me for some reason! The background layers are So Saffron and Very Vanilla, with the Very Vanilla piece having been embossed with the Softly Falling TIEF.
- Yellow, Birds & Bows. I chose the bottom row of this week's Tic-Tac-Toe challenge. I chose the softness of the So Saffron yellow for my pretty Bloomin' Hearts thinlet cutout, and the little bit brighter look of Daffodil Delight for the ribbon and bow using 1/2" seam binding ribbon. The It's My Party enamel dots collection had the perfect Daffodil Delight dots for the centers of my Very Vanilla flowers on the heart. Mister Bird is punched with the Bird Builder punch from Very Vanilla cardstock, and then "dusted" with some So Saffron ink and a sponge dauber. I played with my Wink of Stella Clear glitter pen, using it on the bird, and flowers, and other edges. It doesn't show much in the picture, but the subtle effect in person is so pretty!
- With Sympathy. This design would be perfect for just about any occasion - wedding, birthday, sympathy. I chose to go the sympathy route today. I need a sympathy card, unfortunately, this week, and I felt like this soft gentle card would be perfect. Using the beautiful sentiments from the Rose Wonder stamp set, I stamped the sentiment for the outside of the card, bordered by the sweet little label, and cut out with the coordinated framelit from the Rose Garden framelits set. It is attached with a piece of Crushed Curry bakers twine, and a little glue dot to just keep it right in place.
- Turn to the Inside. The inside of this card carries a matting of So Saffron and Very Vanilla, and more of the beautiful sentiments and images from the Rose Wonder stamp set. I really do love this set for all it has to offer for both the outside and inside of our card designs.
Well, I'm off to work in the snow and cold. Thank goodness I'm not the one driving -- LOL! Miss Sadie will stay snug in her crate until I get back home for lunch. I've got some fabulous Taco Soup bubbling away in the crock pot, and smells oh so good in the house this morning since it's been cooking all night.
I hope you have enjoyed today's card design. As always, I'm only an email away if you ever have any questions regarding my designs - wendyklein@doggonedelightfulstampin.com. Looking for a Stampin' Up! demonstrator? I'd be honored to be your "go to" gal! Give me a call.
Have a fabulous day everyone!
