Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
How is everyone this fine Hump Day?? I am very busy as usual -- and the weather is FINE! Miss Sadie is spending her days at Doggy Day Camp where she is playing with her BFF's in the warm 60 degree sunshine!
Someone asked me recently "what's up" over here at DDS? Like, what projects am I working on, and what all am I busy with? So I thought I'd just stop for a minute today and share -- because, I am very busy right now! Almost too much!
I'm working on a quilt for my brother -- I had intended this to be done for Christmas; but didn't pull it off. So now his birthday is the 28th of February, and I'm working my little backside off trying to get my arms wrapped around this one.
Before anyone asks - no, there is no distinct pattern to this layout; I am replicating the original quilt my Grandmother made my brother many years ago. He has finally worn it totally out.
In fact, I have refurbished the original quilt twice over the past years. I told my sister-in-law after the last time that it would be the final time I would be able to do that. The quilt was totally worn out this last time and I could barely mend the holes and problems -- I knew I would have to sew a brand new one.
The quilt is made from squares of denim - refurbed from old jeans and shirts, just like Grandma did. It is a tie quilt -- so fairly simple.
I have fabric cut and am about to start sewing a new Easter Table-runner for my dining room table. I'll be sure to share this one with you when it's complete. It's going to be cute!
I'm busily preparing for a fun Workshop for a sweet gal and her friends this coming Saturday. We'll be hosting at her home. She has asked for a fun shaker card, and for me to teach my Star Ornament (tutorial given in December), with a freshened look to it -- we're thinking Spring.
I'm also planning and working hard on the samples and card prep for the Birthday Stamp-a-Stack class beginning on February 27th! This is one of my most popular classes and the 27th class is already filled. I've added a March 5th date which is already starting to fill up as well!! Lots of fun -- but lots of work!!!
I'm also trying to play with and get caught up on my Paper Pumpkin kits. I do love these kits!! Be sure to take advantage of the 3-month Subscription sale going on right now with PP.
And in the middle of all that -- Mom and I are back trying to forge ahead on the Heritage Album we started over a year ago. She's anxious to get this worked on -- she's worried that she's not "getting any younger" and what if something happened to her and we didn't have this done!! OMG! Yes -- she's a little neurotic LOL But she's right -- we do need to try to get this project done this Spring if we can.
So, you ask, how on earth are you doing ALL of that? Well, not easily!! I think work is highly over-rated and I just don't have time for it. LOL Needless to say, I'd have no issue retiring tomorrow!! I'm not one of those people that wouldn't know what to do with myself at home. LOL
I have lots of fabulous questions stacking up, and I hope to get back to you next week with a short little tutorial on one of those. So stay tuned !! There is a lot coming at DDS -- we're having tons of fun!!
Until Next Time . . .
