Happy Monday! It's the start to the final week of February ~ really hard to believe! We've been working hard around here; so much going on! I had a busy and good weekend! Met some lovely new ladies on Saturday at a wonderful Workshop event I held for one of my customers. The food and the company were all so wonderful!
Today is Paper Players [PP283] challenge time. Today's challenge is a CAS theme challenge; a really fun theme named 'Up, Up, and Away' - - use any airborne object in the design. And of course, balloons are on trend right now, so we're going to have a little balloon fun today!!
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. Today's card is cut from Whisper White cardstock, 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2". The background layers are Basic Black, and Bermuda Bay, cut 1/8" smaller at each layer; with the top layer back to Whisper White for a nice CAS backdrop. The Whisper White piece was wrapped with a piece of It's My Party Washi Tape before being layered with its matting and to the front of the card.
- Balloon Celebration. As I said earlier, balloons are very "on trend" this Spring, and we have a number of wonderful stamp sets featuring these helium-filled creations! The Balloon Celebration stamp set has some wonderful balloons with some nice accents and even a coordinated punch -- the Balloon Bouquet Punch. And I'm all about anything that makes life easy -- punches are a breeze!! I stamped 5 of my balloons in Bermuda Bay ink - a mixture of several of the images from the stamp set. Then I punched out one balloon from Basic Black, and stamped it with the sentiment using Craft Whisper White ink. A nice little POP (play on word intended -- LOL) 😉 My balloon strings were stamped in Archival Basic Black, and then I overlaid those with several strings of Two-Tone Baker's Twine. Technique Tip: Attach the end of your string with a glue dot and then overlay your balloon -- looks perfect!! Some Metallic Sequins here and there finish off this CAS design!
Now how fun is that simple little design!!! 😃 I love it!! And I love the Bermuda Bay and Black with the white -- just a nice combination!
This is such a cute stamp set; and the coordinated punch make it so much fun to play. You can stamp your balloons directly to your card pieces, or stamp and punch them out and layer and pop them up and create all sorts of dimension!! How fun!
My local stampers will get to make this card at the Birthday stamp-a-stack class coming up.
