Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
Well -- the past 24 hours have seen 18 inches of blown and drifted snow at my house; one of our heavy, wet March snows, that I can barely shovel because I can't lift a shovel full up high enough to get it off the sidewalk -- LOL. Oh man!! It was nuts yesterday. By 8:00 am, I knew I wasn't going to be able to actually make it into the office, so I gave up and signed on from home and worked via the internet all day; inbetween watching the raging storm out my window, taking break to try to shovel, clean off the satellite dish, and watch the lights flicker as many in other residential areas lost their electricity. I was pretty sure I was next, but somehow the lights stayed on all day!!
This picture was from early in the morning before it got really bad. I should have taken another later in the day -- the branches on that tree are now hanging nearly to the ground and the snow on the railing is "a mile high" LOL And they're talking more by Saturday -- eeeek!! Miss Sadie isn't quite sure about having snow up to her head -- LOL
At any rate - thankfully today is my "Friday" - so I can about call it done for the week and hopefully stick close to home the rest of the weekend and maybe get some other things done. I'm still having a ton of fun playing with the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, What I Love; and I indeed adore this set. So much fun.
This fun set of cards is each made the same way, but with a different colorway!
This is an emboss resist technique, with a little "extra" thrown in.
Here is today's color selections. Did you know that if you click on any of the color squares it will take you directly to my Online Store and show you all the products available in that color? Give it a try -- you'll like it!!
To create this set of cards, I stamped the floral outline from the What I Love stamp set, in Versamark on a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock, then embossed with clear embossing powder. I then cut the piece into 3 equal size pieces of 2 1/2" x 5 3/8".
I then sponged each piece in my color of choice; then I took an AquaPainter and added additional color using more of the same ink color to the larger flower; then using a stampin' write marker, adding additional color randomly into the petals of the larger flower -- gives it great dimension.
Technique Tip: Use a baby wipe when you are done to wipe your cardstock off; this will clean off the embossed areas well, and blend the color across the cardstock as well.
One final touch that doesn't show well in the pictures; I used my Clear Wink of Stella pen to add some lovely sparkle to all the flower petals. I love the way this pen is so easy to use and adds just that hint of sparkle to everything it touches!
I once again used the gorgeous Lovely Lace textured impressions embossing folder to emboss Whisper White backgrounds laid against coordinated colored card bases.
I then matted each embossed piece in its coordinated color, wrapped the layer with Whisper White 1/4" cotton ribbon, and chose a sentiment for each card.
One card uses the sentiment from the What I Love set - "Thank You"
One uses a sentiment from another Sale-A-Bration set, called Honeycomb Happiness - "Oh, Hello"
And the third uses a sentiment from the beautiful Picture Perfect stamp set - "Just A Note"
All the sentiments fit perfectly into the Word Window Punch which I popped up with dimensionals.
This design makes for a relatively simple card to assemble, leaving the "wow factor" to the details! Don't you love it!? You could easily whip out a couple sets of these cards in no time and have a great stash builder to rely on for a card in a pinch!
Don't miss out on this Sale-A-Bration set. We only have 8 days of Sale-A-Bration left, and when it's over, these sets will be gone!! Don't Miss Out! Order today!
