Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
Happy Friday!! It's a working Friday for me; and I have to go to the dentist today -- sigh :-( One of my least favorite activities. But I have a tooth bothering me, so I guess it's the nature of the beast!
Before I race off to another busy day, however, let's take a moment for today's Mojo Monday [MOJO441] challenge. Today I'm combining the Mojo sketch challenge with the color challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary [CCMC400]. A little something to shake up our routine! 😏
Let's take a look . . .
Here's today's color inspiration ~ straight from the CCMC color challenge :
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. We're doing something fun and different today!! This card is cut from Very Vanilla cardstock, 5 1/4" x 10 1/2", scored at 5 1/4" -- this is a fun square card at a finished size of 5 1/4" x 5 1/4". The background layers consist of Lost Lagoon matting, with an overlay from the Going Places DSP in a Sahara Sand motif, and a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock on which is stamped images from the wonderful stamp set, Timeless Textures. I just love this stamp set. The images are collaged in Sahara Sand, Lost Lagoon, and Delightful Dijon. A piece of Lost Lagoon 5/8" Striped Cotton Ribbon "ties" the two pieces on the card front together.
- Bold Butterfly. I am so ready to pull out all my Spring and Summery dies and stamp sets!! They have been tucked away far too long. This cute little guy is from the Bold Butterfly Framelits set. He is cut from a piece of DSP out of the Going Places DSP stack, and is attached to some offset/stacked Silver Metallic Doilies with a few little flowers punched with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack. You know what makes this butterfly easy peasy now? Why our new Big Shot Die Brush and the Precision Base Plate of course!! You must give it a try. It's a dream!! A few little rhinestones help add a bit of bling, while the "Celebrate" wooden element from the Expressions Naturals Elements set gives a nice change-up of texture to the entire ensemble (perfect for the "banner" element in the sketch).
- Turn to the Inside. The inside of this card has a matting of Lost Lagoon as well, and has more wonderful images from the Timeless Textures stamp set, stamped in Sahara Sand and Delightful Dijon. The wonderful sentiment is from the Hostess set, Happy Birthday, Everyone. I love this bold yet elegant sentiment from that stamp set. It is stamped in Lost Lagoon ink. You can "earn" this beautiful stamp set with a qualifying $150 order!
So what do you do when you have an unusual shaped card? Why you create your own envelope of course!!
Pull out that Envelope Punch Board, and a piece of 2015-2017 In Color Envelope Paper (this is Delightful Dijon here), and whip one out in a jiffy.
And even better, stamp that #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp on the back and send it off to someone wonderful!
Have you joined my #imbringingbirthdaysback initiative yet? It's really simple! Just leave me a comment with your birthday, letting me know that you'd love a birthday card from me, and who knows . . . . you might be the lucky person to maybe even get this particular card in your mailbox. I'll email you for your mailing address, so don't worry about that!! I'd love to have you join the growing list of stampers who want to receive a birthday card, and who want to pay it forward!!
I hope you have enjoyed today's design, and the opportunity to mix it up a little bit and join another card challenge! I'd love to read what you think. I love your comments!!
