Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
Happy Monday!! Off we go into a very busy week! Later today Stampin' Up! will officially release and make public the Retiring List for the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog. It's a doozy, I'm just going to warn you now (I will post up all the details to that tomorrow morning on the Tuesday Round-Up, including the link to the retiring list). However, I have to say that this is the first year in a while that I'm not too upset about what is retiring. I'm so excited about the new catalog, that I'm ready to purge, clear the slate, and get ready for the beautiful new things that are coming, some of which I will have in hand later this week. I can hardly wait!!
I have to say too, that I am feeling some relief at returning our focus to the Annual Catalog. Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed by the "current occasions" catalog (whatever season we are in), and that we simply can never take the time to enjoy all the beautiful products in our big Annual Catalog and Idea Book. So I am thrilled, armed now with the knowledge I have from OnStage this past week, that I can now focus on the Annual Catalog ~~ both the one that is about to retire, as well as with a look forward to the new catalog releasing on June 3rd. I hope you are as excited as I am and ready for this roller coaster ride over the next six weeks; because . . . here we go !!!
It's time for this week's Paper Players [PP291] challenge design. This week is a CAS (clean and simple) challenge with a focus on butterflies! Whoo Hooo -- feels like Spring to me, and I do love butterflies. I decided to do a true CAS card this week, so I hope you enjoy!
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card is cut from our extra thick Whisper White cardstock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4", with the fold turned to the top. I created one inset layer of regular Whisper White cardstock which holds all the stamping and details for this card.
- Butterfly Basics Meets Papillon Potpourri. I have missed these beautiful stamp sets in the past six months. After my major sort and clean out yesterday, it was so nice to see my "friends" sitting on the shelf just awaiting ink and paper. Yes, you will be pleased to know that these lovely sets are carrying forward into our 2016-2017 Annual Catalog. It will be so nice to "refresh" these sets this Spring and Summer and enjoy them again ~~ especially in conjunction with what all else is on its way (hint hint). I stamped my background collage from the Butterfly Basics set in So Saffron, Wild Wasabi and Soft Sky; just a random pattern of fun. I then stamped up my butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri set in the same colors. What makes it even easier is our wonderful butterfly punches -- just stamp and punch and you've got a butterfly!
The butterflies are gently curved at their bodies and attached with glue dots. So easy and simple.
The sentiment is stamped in Wild Wasabi directly to the card front (don't look too closely; I eye-balled it ~~ big mistake. That will teach me to pull out my stamp-a-ma-jig).
I then went over the different images and the butterflies with Clear Wink of Stella to add that wonderful sparkle and shimmer to the images. I was hoping to try to catch it on camera, but it really doesn't show up. You have to see it in person.
Some pearls to finish it all off, and you have a simple but beautifully elegant card for any occasion.
I purposely left the inside blank as any "well wishes" would go with this sentiment on the front ~~ birthday, mother's day, get well, etc.
I hope you enjoyed today's CAS design. Dust off those butterfly stamps, and share with me your ideas for a CAS butterfly card. I'd love to see what you dream up ~~ please share :-)
Have a great Monday everyone ~~ And stay tuned; lots of announcements coming your way. If you are signed up for my newsletter, you will get all the details "First" today; ahead of tomorrow's postings.
