Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
How is everyone this fine Friday morning. We seem to be slipping from Spring into Summer here in Colorado. It is going to be a beautiful weekend on the Front Range of Eastern Colorado. My big Annual Studio Clean Out Sale is this weekend, and I'm glad to have such nice beautiful weather for this event.
June is my favorite month of the year!! Not just because of the beautiful warm days, and the new flowers, and green grass, and everything smells so good, and oh, lots of rain ~~ But mainly because . . . it's MY birthday month!! LOL :-) And I think celebrating the whole month, not just a day, is essential! So we're going to have fun with birthday designs and other things this month; I hope you'll stick around to play!
It's Mojo Monday [MOJO450] challenge time! I'm so excited that after somewhat of a hiatus, Mojo decided to bring back the "tall and skinny" challenge this week. It is one of my favorites!! So let's see what I came up with for today's design . . .
Doggone Delightful Stampin Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card is cut from Peek-a-Boo Peach cardstock (yum!), 5 1/2" x 7", scored at 3 1/2". The background layers to the card are Basic Black and Whisper White; and then I cut some Peek-a-Boo Peach strips, approximately 3/8" wide and layered them down the left side. The entire piece is wrapped with Black Baker's Twine (regular), and adhered to the card front.
- Marquee Message. Have you checked out this new stamp set yet? It's called Marquee Messages, and it is just so retro and fun! Today I just used these two sentiments together on the banner, coloring in the letters with Peek-a-Boo Peach stampin' write marker. I used the Banners framelits to cut the piece out, and to mat it with Basic Black cardstock, and then popped it up on the card front with dimensionals.
- Balloon Duo. I pulled out my Balloon Bouquet punch and punched two little Peek-a-Boo Peach balloons; then created some dimension using a stylus and popped them up with dimensionals. They have coordinated Black Baker's Twine strings and a bow, and a few Rhinestones for some sparkle.
Now, what I want to know, is your opinion! Do you think the card is too simple? I sat and stared at it for awhile and it felt like something was missing, or it was just too plain, or something. Or maybe I'm over-thinking it. Maybe it's fine!! I'd love to have your feedback!
At any rate -- I'm loving this new stamp set. Be sure to snag it from my Online Store, and give it a whirl!! Let me know how I can help you with your paper passion.
