Good Morning Fellow Stampers!!
Yes indeedy!! It is in fact my birthday today!! And I intend to pack up Miss Sadie Ann and take off for the day to do fun stuff with a friend! So there! LOL :-) But before I go, I'm going to get a few things done around here, including opening my box that arrived from Stampin' Up! yesterday (I was just too tired to do it last night). And I'm so excited because there are so many wonderful goodies in there. So keep an eye on my DDS Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/doggonedelightfulstampin/), because I'm hoping to do our very first "Live" Facebook video this morning opening that wonderful box!
But in the meantime, I really don't want to make this day about me. Instead, I want to share something else with all of you, and hope that you will join me in making another young lady's special day the best she has ever known. This was shared in our Pals private chat room this week, and I want to share it with all of you :
Hallee Sorenson is like any other teenager — she likes sports, she enjoys her friends, she’s got a sense of humor.
She’s also autistic. But as her family says, that’s never gotten in the way of her doing what she wants to do.
When she turned 18 last year, her family — including her mother, Allyson Sorenson, who writes the More Bang(or) For Your Buck blog for the Bangor Daily News — threw her a party at a local bowling alley and invited her high school classmates.
No one showed up.
Hallee’s cousin, Rebecca, never forgot the sadness on her little cousin’s face that day. Earlier this week, she wrote a public Facebook post asking the general public to send Hallee birthday cards for her 19th birthday, which is coming up in July. It’s received more than 66,000 shares in the past 48 hours.
“Hal loves getting mail- this would be the best birthday gift she could ask for. If you could find it in your heart to take a few mins out of your day and send her a card, I would be forever [grateful],” read part of the Facebook post.
The full post is linked below. You can send cards — just cards, please, no gifts — to Hallee Sorenson, 34 Wellesley Way, Bangor, ME, 04401.
By the way, here’s a sweet blog post mom Allyson wrote about her daughter last summer, just before that 18th birthday.
Now I know this is probably unusual -- but the reality is that at Stampin' Up! we are all about "making a difference." This is our motto; this is our Statement of the Heart -- "To Love What We Do and Share What We Love As We Help Others Enjoy Creativity and Worthwhile Accomplishments -- In THIS We Make a Difference."
So I'm going to ask all you wonderful stampers and crafters today, in celebration of My Special Day -- please sit down, make a beautiful birthday card, and send it off to Hallee -- let's Make a Difference in someone else's life today!!
Here is Hallee's address one more time:

Have a Wonderful Saturday and weekend everyone!! Wishing you blessings and peace!
Until Next Time . . .
