Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
TGIF!! Oh My! If I can get through this day I will be able to just collapse!! And I'm behind on absolutely EVERYTHING here at home! Grrrrrrrrr -- I'll have over 10 hours of overtime in this week. It's been a very hectic, wild week at work; and I'm ready for this huge event to just be over; everyone involved is tired and worn out!
It's Mojo Monday [MOJO453] challenge time. This week's sketch challenge was again somewhat of a "challenge" for me. I don't know, maybe being tired and distracted and stressed attributes to my creativity levels. I did settle in with the brand new Jars of Love stamp set and coordinating Everyday Jars framelits though; and ended up doing some experimenting with this set.
Now honestly, this card is chock full of new products; and one retired -- LOL :-) This card base is cut from Crumb Cake cardstock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". A mat piece of Island Indigo frames a beautiful piece of designer paper from the new Serene Scenery designer series paper stack. I have no words for how beautiful this paper stack is! You must experience it! I then wrapped my layers with the retired Winter Wonderland designer washi tape -- in this case a lovely sheer with gold flecking and crackle textures. Love it!!!!
Now seriously!! How much fun are these jars?!? Wow!! Love them! I stamped the jars with Smoky Slate, cut them right out with their coordinated framelits (so easy!) and then added some "water" with Soft Sky ink and an AquaPainter. I then overlaid that with some clear Wink of Stella for a little shimmer. The flowers and stems turned out to be a "learning curve." But that's alright. The first time you use an intricate stamp set like this, there is some learning and experimenting. Turns out there is some 2-step stamping in this set -- and it makes these flowers really turn out cool!! Now, having had some time to play; and then sit and ponder the end result, I already have some ideas about what I would do differently here. When you're tired, and it's late, your mind doesn't always catch the little nuances to a design until after it's complete. Sooooooooo -- I'm going to experiment with my ideas that are brewing and then come to you with some strategies and techniques that I think would just make these jars and bouquets beyond fabulous!!!
Nevertheless, for the first time playing with this set, I'm pretty excited with the results. I knew I was going to love this bundle!! I used the Bunch of Banners framelits and the vintage sentiment from the stamp set to create a sweet little banner. By arranging the jars just so, you can give the illusion of a "square" that draws the eye to emulate the square in the sketch. I love thinking "outside the sketch" so to speak :-)
Well, I hope you have enjoyed this introduction to this cute bundle. A must have on your list in my opinion. There are a lot more cute things to do with this set; and I'm looking forward to playing! Just gotta find some time -- LOL :-)
I hope everyone has a fabulous Friday! And a great weekend ahead!!
Until Next Time . . . .
