Howdy Howdy!!
Happy Thursday everyone! I'm getting excited about packing up the car and getting outta Dodge City! ha I need a break, that's for sure!
Today is the day of the week when I take the opportunity to just do what I want to do and play with what I want to play with. The last several weeks I've been bringing you my own special series on "CASEing the Catty" -- all the wonderful new and fabulous things from the new Annual catalog; and today I'm bring you some fun with the new Bunch of Blossoms stamp set and Blossom Builder Punch bundle on page 69 of your new catalogs. Oh what fun!! :-) I have two card designs for you today -- one uses nothing but the punch; the other uses nothing but the stamp set. Both are CASE'd from the catalog on pages 68 to 69, and I hope to show you just how easy it is to get inspiration and ideas straight from the pages of your catalog! Here we go. . .
Today's cards are both notecard size -- 3 1/2" x 5", and 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" on the other. I have to tell you, this set is really fun! I'm looking forward to playing with it somemore. In both these CASE's I added little "tweaks" to make these designs more "Wendy" cards ;-) LOL
This cute card is created using the easy peasy Whisper White pre-cut/pre-scored notecards set; I have a piece of Crushed Curry cut 3 3/8" x 4 7/8" overlaid with a piece of the brand new Irresistibly Floral Specialty DSP. I very lightly sponged Daffodil Delight over the designer paper -- I love this emboss resist paper. So easy!! I wrapped the layers with Whisper White Thick Baker's Twine and tied a bow before adhering the piece to the front of the card base.
It's the Blossom Builder Punch that makes this design! I had so much testing out this punch and playing with putting together these little flower buds. I "free-handed" the stems, but the "leaves" are created from the punch. The sentiment(s) are from the sweet Bunch of Blossoms stamp set, stamped in Crushed Curry to match the flower centers. My stamp on the "You Matter" kind of got over-inked. So I got these little "splatters" when I stamped; but when I looked at it, I really liked the effect, so I just left it.
This little notecard was cut from Peekaboo Peach cardstock, and has one layer of Whisper White on the front. This is a "created" look as I call it. Use create your background with stamps and ink; rather than using designer paper to do it. I used the beautiful Bunch of Blossoms stamp set to create this entire card front. Now, if you haven't noticed this is a 2-step (3-step) stamp set; so I had a lot of fun stamping the images and adding the color with the remaining images. Because this is a photopolymer stamp set, it is so easy to line up. Plus this set has a real watercolorist look to it. I used the "swoosh" from the Sunshine Sayings stamp set for my "background" to my sentiment on the punched out circle. Pearls are a finishing touch must!! :-)
So there you are :-) Some sweet little notecards, inspired by the catty -- pretty easy actually; and oh so sweet! The reason we call it the Annual Catalog and Idea Book is exactly for that reason. You can find so many wonderful ideas and inspiration among these pages. So next time you're wondering what kind of card to make, pick up your Annual Catty :-) I am sure you'll find something perfect among its pages!
Have a wonderful day everyone!
Until Next Time . . .
