Good Morning Fellow Stampers!
Almost the last day of the week. But this is my fun day on the blog; and today, rather than Case the Catty today, I'm going to feature my number one pick from the new catalog (see My Favorite Things from yesterday's post). The Festive Birthday Suite is just my favorite I think; and since I love so much about this catalog, that's a little tough to say! I adore the fun, bright colors of this suite, and the fabulous "party" feel of the stamp set! Let's take a peak at my fun design for today!
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card base is cut from thick Whisper White cardstock, 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2". The background mat layer is Tempting Turquoise; and the Whisper White background is embossed with the brand new Festive textured impression embossing folder! Love it!! Then there are 3 central layers that are created using the new Festive Birthday designer series paper, matted with the colors in this designer paper -- Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, and Tempting Turquoise.
- Birthday Fiesta. Oh my! The brand new Birthday Fiesta stamp set and the Fiesta Time framelits are so much fun!! I didn't know where to start, so I settled on my favorite -- cute little Llama, stamped him in Soft Suede, created a color blanket for his back, embellished with rhinestones; and cut him out, easy peasy, with the new framelits! He's popped up with dimensionals.
- Banners Galore. The Bunch of Banners framelits is in My Favorite Things top picks as well, and definitely for a reason! How fabulous is this set? I pulled out the new Birthday Banners, and just had a ball putting this together. What a nice change of pace for sentiments on your card designs. I popped the color on this sentiment, stamping the banner in Tempting Turquoise and the words in Melon Mambo. This too is popped with dimensionals.
Don't you just love it? I cannot get enough of the bright colors, and the feel of Mexico. I adore this!!
Just a "tip" about this new embossing folder. Be careful!! This embossing folder imprints very deeply through your cardstock, much like the Woodgrain TIEF does.
Be careful or you will rip through your cardstock. If you emboss successfully, than "handle with care!" Just handling the piece the wrong way can cause it to tear!
