How is everyone!? Did you notice that you didn't get my Ask Wendy Wednesdays blog post yesterday? Well, sadly, technology delayed my post and so we're a day late -- I'm just hoping it's not a dollar short -- LOL :-) So, that means we're going to be a "day off" this week on the planned posts; which means you might get a special "Simply Simple Saturdays" post to make up for it -- so stay tuned!! It does frustrate me to no end when things don't work they way they are supposed to, but I am learning to roll with the flow. So here we are on Change-Up Thursday - with an Ask Wendy Wednesdays tutorial video :-)
As I promised last week, I am bringing you a fabulous tutorial on how to make the "gate fold" card I created for last week's Stampin' Pretty Pals Blog Hop using the new and absolutely gorgeous Floral BoutiqueSuite from the new Annual Catalog! Did you get a chance to see last week's post?
I hope you've been looking forward to this tutorial; and I hope that I won't disappoint you :-) This is about a 30 minute tutorial, but I think I go into enough detail to help whip this card right up in no time! It really isn't that hard, just a little time-consuming. The details will wow any recipient!
Here's the measurement details laid out for you again:
I hope that helps you with all the little details :) As always, don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. I'm here to help coach your creativity :-) Now go make those beautiful gate-fold cards!! I can hardly wait to see your creations! Won't you share?

Happy Monday!! Off and running to a busy week everyone? Did everyone have a nice weekend? I had a fairly restful weekend, with some time spent here and there on projects that I've been trying to get completed for some time now. So it felt good to both get some rest, as well as do a little catching up. I was even able to spend Saturday afternoon and evening just reading a good book and snoozing off and on. I needed that very badly!
It's Paper Players [PP304] challenge time. This week's challenge was a clean and simple watercolor challenge. And today I'm bringing you my version of "faux watercoloring." It's the easy way out when you don't want to pull out the aqua painter or blender pen, or even the paint brush and start playing with ink and water. So let me show you how to get a fabulous look in an incredible quick and easy fashion!
Layerothology. Today's design showcases the new Irresistibly Floral specialty designer series paper -- FAN -- tastic!! Want a quick and easy background in any color you want? This paper was made just for You! And this is how I created my "faux" watercolored piece today. The nice thing about this paper is that you can use a brayer, spritzer, sponge, brush, aqua painter or dauber to apply color to this paper, then wipe off with a paper towel to reveal the beautiful glossy white designs!
Have you tried the new sponge brayers yet with this new designer paper. I wasn't sure what I thought about Stampin' Up! going to a sponge brayer versus my fabulous rubber brayer (that I will never give up!); but I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. These are actually really good quality, hold up well, give a nice even layer of coloring, and what I love is that your "kit" holds two handles with sponges on them, plus two extra sponges, so you can change out your sponge for each color of ink you're working with. This piece is the background focal point of my design, sponged in Dapper Denim.
Technique Tip: Use a piece of paper towel to rub the ink off your raised areas of your paper, so that it shines through beautifully just like this. That's the joy of "emboss resist" - even the faux type -- LOL :) So now we're faux watercoloring using a "faux" emboss resist technique -- and all of it so easy because Stampin' Up! gave us all the tools to whip this up in a jiffy!!
This is also a piece from the Irresistibly Yours SDSP. Have you taken a close look at all the different designs in that paper collection? They are all incredible! I think I love this dotted pattern!
Colored in Emerald Envy, I cut this strip to 1" x 5 1/4".
So this is an Emerald Envy card base, cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"; a mat layer of Watermelon Wonder, overlaid with our Irresistibly Floral "watercolored" pieces.
A Flourish & A Bit of Sunshine! There are so many wonderful die sets in this new catalog, I can't hardly stand it!! LOL It's hard to know which one at any given time, so I used two on this card design. The wonderful hearts and the sentiment are from the Sunshine Wishes dies, and the sweet little accent flowers are from the Flourish Thinlits. I am loving all these new In Colors and how they play together so well. What do you think of today's color combination ?? ;-)
Now I have to tell you, that was one simple, easy design to put together! I had so much fun too!! Don't miss out on this incredible paper -- get yours today at my Online Store. Don't hesitate to ask me any questions about today's or any other of my designs. I'm here to help you with your creative passion! wendyklein@doggonedelightfulstampin.com.
DON'T FORGET! BONUS DAYS ARE HERE! For each $50 you spend July 7 -31, you will earn a $5 coupon to redeem in August! This is a GREAT way to get a discount on your shopping in August!!

TGIF, right??!! Whew . . . I'm incredibly glad this week is over; and that I have a long weekend ahead of me to get some rest. I had a little bit of good news last night. The doctors have decided to not pursue surgery on my sinus at this time; instead, an intense round of antibiotics and steroids, and hope that the infection will clear up so that the hole between the sinus and the surgery site will heal closed. So please pray for me. I want to avoid any more surgery at all costs!!
It's Mojo Monday [MOJO456] challenge time, and I've got a fabulous "sneak peak" for you today!!! If you are keeping track of the Tuesday Round-Ups, you know that we have an exclusive, limited edition bundle coming in August -- and I got mine yesterday! :) This is going to be a must-have everyone!
Here's a few of the colors prominently featured in today's card design!
Introducing the incredible Thoughtful Branches Bundle!!
And I'm in love with this set ~~ once I got to see it in person I realized just how fabulous it really is!
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
Layerothology. This card is cut from Whisper White thick cardstock, 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2" - a top fold vertical card. The background layers are Flirty Flamingo and the new Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate, cut 4 1/2" x 3 1/2". I absolutely adore this new acetate!!
A Bundle of Branches. Here it is folks! The brand new Thoughtful Branches stamp set and coordinating Beautiful Branches thinlits dies. You are going to love this!! The tree base was cut from Crumb Cake using the die; the leaves were stamped, and then also cut out with the coordinating die. They are glued in place with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen; and then the whole piece is popped up with dimensionals. Don't you just love those cute little apples? Also stamped, and then cut out with the coordinating die!! And the little bird too :-)
The sentiment is also from the new set (fabulous!!), stamped in Flirty Flamingo on Whisper White. I free-handed this little banner, and popped it up over some Metallic Gold Thread.
Are You Earning Those Bonus Dollars? This is the perfect time to be earning bonus dollars and saving them to snatch this bundle up next month.
For each $50 you spend from July 7th to 31st, you will earn a $5 coupon to redeem in August. Enter my Online Store and start fulfilling those wish lists :-)'
Happy Thursday to you all. Earlier this week, on my Business Facebook Page, I alluded to the fact that it has been a tough time here at DDS Studios. Some of you may recall that I had fairly major oral surgery back on Memorial Day Weekend. It's been a tough haul trying to get through the healing process and "get well" from that. In fact, since about June 19th, things have not been going well. I saw the oral surgeon on Monday morning this week, and it turns out that, as I somewhat suspected, I have a fairly bad infection brewing in the surgical site area and it has moved into the sinus passage directly associated with that area of the gumline. I have had to go on some pretty heavy-duty antibiotics this week; and the bad part about it was that the oral surgeon determined that I would need to undergo more surgery. In this case, he is going to go back in, drain the infection, and try to close a hole that he believes has opened up in the sinus area. He has told me that if we cannot get this hole closed and get everything cleared up and healed up, that I will have to see a sinus doctor and may have to have full-blown sinus surgery. I am quite upset to say the least. So please just pray for me that tomorrow goes well, and that I will heal quickly and get on the mend from all this. I simply cannot face a major surgery like that at this point.
So, needless to say, I'm having a stressful week; but am trying to keep myself distracted with finishing up the Product Shares from the Annual Catalog release and getting those out the door; and continuing to spend some time in the studio on different projects. Today I decided to feature the fabulous Sweet Cupcake Bundle (Item #142232) from the new catalog. I just love this bundle; it is so fabulous.
I stamped this "sweet" card creating "vanilla" and "chocolate" cupcakes with "strawberry" frosting-- now really, can you choose?? LOL :)
This card base is cut from Watermelon Wonder cardstock, and the background matting is 2015-2017 In Color Designer Series Paper in Watermelon Wonder.
The middle layers are created with Whisper White and Early Espresso cardstocks.
Now what's especially fun about these cupcakes is the "stampable frosting" -- this incredible "technique" was showcased to us at OnStage in April by our CEO, Sara Douglass!! Oh wow!! Fabulous!
I've been experimenting and playing with this frosting recipe and I think I have finally "perfected" it and have a better idea of how to manage it so that it looks incredible -- as it does here. Actually gives a 3D effect to the frosting, making it look real.
I added Clear Wink of Stella to the "frosting" to make it shimmer.
All three cupcakes were stamped on Whisper White cardstock, then cut out with the Cupcake Cutouts framelits, and popped with dimensionals.
And here's the inside . . .
Here is my color combinations for today's "frosting" and for the cupcakes:
Stay tuned in the next week or two; I will be sharing Sara's "stampable frosting" recipe and some tips and tricks to make beautiful cupcakes, luscious enough to eat :-)
DDS Studios is available Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm MT Only!! I will respond to emails, phone calls, text messages, etc., and any Stampin' Up! needs during these business hours. Please be patient and I will get back with you as soon as I can during these times. Thank you.
