Happy Monday! We're ready to kick off the week with lots on the agenda. We're going to be jumping into a new catalog and new schedule soon. Hope you're ready for Fall and lots of fun ahead :-)
It's Paper Players [PP309] Challenge time! A fun CAS (clean and simple) theme challenge this week. One that seems appropriate for late summer fun! :-)
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. You know me -- I don't do cards without lots of fabulous layers :-) This card is cut from Thick Whisper White cardstock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". A set of backdrop layers in Cucumber Crush, Watermelon Wonder, and Whisper White for a nice clean backdrop. These layers are wrapped with some retired Watermelon Wonder 1" Stitched Satin Ribbon, before behind adhered to the card front. There is then a coordinated layering of Ovals to bring the focus to the center of the card.
- Summer Sorbet. These sweet watermelon slices are from the Summer Sorbet stamp set. When I first started contemplating this card design, I thought I was going to use the ice cream cone (or snow cone, depending on what you like), from this set. But I quickly switched to the watermelon. It just seemed to perfect for this time of year. It's later summer, all our wonderful fruits and vegetables are coming in from the fields, and don't you just love a good luscious watermelon slice? And you can't do it any better than with our fabulous In Colors - Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder - which I put on the stamp with sponge daubers to get the coloring just the way I wanted, and then stamped. These are fussy cut, and then popped with dimensionals.
- Thoughtful Banners. Now don't panic -- the perfect sentiments are hiding in the Thoughtful Banners stamp set, so that you can create just about anything you'd like to say! Bordered, and punched easily with the Duet Banner Punch, it's just perfect!!!
Of course, don't forget those pearls to finish it all off!! (those are the seeds guys!) :-)

Don't you just love it!? Good enough to eat I think. And lots of nice white space to keep it CAS. Not hard to put together either! What a fun card to send a friend.
