Happy Monday! Are we ready to kick off the week. It's the last day of October -- which means some Halloween fun later today! And then we jump into November, and kick off the Holiday Season with Thanksgiving. We are fully into Christmas designing and other fun here at DDS Studios, and I'm having so much fun playing I have to tell you. Today's card design was no exception as I opened up a recently received bundle and just had some fabulous fun playing!
It's time to play with the Paper Players [PP319] challenge for this week. This week is a fun and fabulous Tic-Tac-Toe challenge; and once I studied each row across, column up and down, and everything diagonal -- LOL, I knew what I wanted to play with. As is not unusual for me -- now that I have today's card done, I am contemplating all sorts of things I would have added, changed, or done differently -- but hey, each card is an effort towards always doing it better, right ?! :-) LOL -- here we go!
Today's card design features the new Greetings from Santa stamp set and the coordinated Detailed Santa Thinlits die set. Since today's design is a shaker card, I'm not going to discuss layers and such -- because there really aren't any to this card. But oh, I have to tell you, I love this die as much as I thought I would when I first saw it :)
The card base for this card is cut from Real Red cardstock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".
The front piece is Whisper White cut 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" - you need the full size of the front of your card for this shaker card.
I used both the beautiful Santa cutout, and one of the "frames" for this card front; then backed it with window sheet, and used our new Foam Adhesive Strips (F A B U L O U S!!!) to put this shaker front together.
Now now panicking!! I used my leftover (hidden stash) of Frosted Sequins for this shaker card -- these are sadly retired, but some of my favorites so I stocked up!!
They are definitely perfect for this jolly old fella!!
What you can't see too well in the pictures is that I used Clear Wink of Stella on the puffy part of the cap, and on the larger swirls of the beard.
It makes for a nice "shimmer" and glimmer to this card. I love it!!!
And the inside is just as fun, leaving a nice space for a little note to a friend or loved one!
I love the classic clean look of Red and White, don't you??
