Hello Fellow Stampers !
Well, we're getting a late start to things today! It's an off-Friday for me, and I am definitely not moving as quickly as I would have liked today. Unfortunately, I've been tired this week which is effecting my motivation a great deal. I have to say I also struggled quite a long time last night with today's card design; and I ended up going to bed and deciding to finish things up this morning. With other distractions, it's taken me a while to get to the computer, but here we finally are !! :-) And I'm exited now with how this finally all came together.
It's Mojo Monday [MOJO470] challenge time. My Mojo design is usually my most detailed design of each week, and today is no exception. This the design where I usually pull out all the stops and really do what I love! I hope you'll love today's card as well.
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card is cut from Thick Whisper White cardstock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4" - a standard A4 side fold card. The background layer is a color I don't use nearly enough - Pacific Point - cut 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" - then embossed with the Sparkle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The fun part of this card is that I have cut a circle on the lower left hand side of this piece, then placed a piece of window sheet on the back side, and using the Layering Circles framelits, created a "frame for the circle with So Saffron cardstock. The upper left-hand corner, in keeping with today's sketch, had a piece of So Saffron from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack, crossed with a strip of Pacific Point, embellished with pearls of course ;-)
- Layering Paisleys. Yup -- I put a cute little "paisley" behind my window circle as I adhered the layer to the card front. Now I didn't "pop" up the layer so that it moves around. Rather, I laid everything flat, so that the piece is actually pretty stable inside it's window -- even though the paisley itself is not adhered in place. This cute piece was created with the various framelits and thinlits from the Paisley Framelits die set. I cut the top intricate piece from Copper Foil; the underlying piece was cut from the Petals & Paisleys Specialty DSP with one of the framelits, and carefully adhered to the back of the Copper Foil piece; and then finally I used one of the larger framelits to cut a "backing" mat piece from Pacific Point cardstock, adhered all the layers together, and wahlah!! It's so cute!!!
- Suite Seasons. This fun little Scallop "tag" has many interesting layers to it using the Tags & Labels Framelits and elements from the Paisleys & Posies stamp set and Paisley framelits. The wonderful sentiment is from the Suite Seasons stamp set, and I actually fussy cut that just the way I wanted it and popped it on last. Did you notice that this sentiment has a matching element in it that matches our Paisleys & Posies stamp set images? The Copper Foil is the perfect addition to making this such an elegant and beautiful design. Don't forget your pearls ;-)
Pretty cute, huh? I love the freshness of this color design. But then I have always loved yellow and blue together.
Well, there you go!!! I hope this gets your creative juices flowing for the weekend! I think it's a nice color alternative for a "Thankful" type card - a departure from traditional Autumn colors.
