Good Morning Fellow Stampers!
Whew! Was that a fast weekend or what? I think I got something done around here ~~ but I might have to go check. LOL ;-) I did finally get my Fall and Halloween decorations pulled down off the shelf in the storage room and got things in order around here. It finally looks like Autumn with a little fun Halloween mixed in!! I can smile and enjoy!
It's Paper Players [PP318] challenge time. I'm starting to break out the Christmas sets around here and going to town. In two very short weeks we're having the Annual Holiday Stamp-a-Stack here and my ladies will be kicking off their Christmas card making in full swing!! Sooooo -- here we go with officially kicking off the Christmas holiday season -- and I'm kind of excited ;-)
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card combines a classic color combination - White, Navy and Silver. The card base is cut from Thick Whisper White cardstock, 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2" - a top fold vertical card. It has one simple background layer of Night of Navy embossed with the Sparkle TIEF. The rest of the layering to this card relates to the sketch design.
- Star of Light. I have been over the moon about this bundle in the Holiday Occasions catalog since I first saw it. There are so many wonderful ideas for the starry "swoosh" image in the stamp set; but at it's core, this set really is all about Christmas. Using a variety of Silver mediums in this design (i.e., Silver embossing powder, Silver Foil, Silver Glimmer paper), I've set about to create a "wow" factor card using just the basic 3 colors I picked for this design. The coordinated die set, Star Light Thinlits, is absolutely just beautiful and elegant. I love it! This star is layered in 3 layers of Night of Navy as a backdrop, Silver Glimmer in the mid-layer, and Whisper White to finish it off.
Wondering where those glimmery little heart-shaped pieces come from I scattered across the card.
Look closely at your intricate star cutout - and you'll see those pop right out of the design.
What a perfect element to capture and use in your design -- let nothing go to waste :)
I noticed after I was done taking my pictures that my Rhinestone had fallen off the middle of the snowflake star. That silly Rhinestone - LOL
Be sure your Rhinestone has picked up all it's adhesive when you remove it from the holding sheet; or add some extra multi-purpose glue to make sure it stays in place!
Don't you just love how beautiful these dies are?
The inside of this card design is as beautiful as the outside. Done all in Night of Navy against the white, it's just so beautiful.
I think the recipients of this card this year are going to love it!!
Well, there you go! We have officially kicked off the Christmas card making season with a wingdinger of a card design!! I'm so excited about this stamp set and die bundle. How about you?
