Good Morning Fellow Stampers ! :-)
It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Month of December . . . it's Stampin' Pretty Pals Blog Hop time, and I am just so excited about this month's blog hop!! So ~~ Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for December 2016. We are grateful you are stopping by this month to enjoy our "Sparkle and Shine" theme hop. This month our projects showcase products with sparkle or shine for a finishing touch. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from Jennifer Michalski's wonderful Stampin' Serenity website. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
I don't know if you can call the "sparkle and shine" a "finishing touch" on my project today; rather I think the glimmer and sparkle may be the focal of today's project -- LOL ;-) I had so much fun with this, and I really hope you will enjoy it too!!
I have to tell you that I have been planning this herd of deer and this adorable sleigh for several weeks now; but with as busy as it has been around here, I didn't get a chance to sit down and really work on this project until just this past weekend and first of this week.
It took a little longer to get all the details in place than I first thought it would; but I have to say it was well worth the effort!
This project is all about the Santa's Sleigh bundle. There are a lot of similar ideas out there on the internet; and several ways you can make this sleigh.
I decided to go all out on my Reindeer - I mean it is Christmas, and they are Santa's helpers, right?? ;-)
These cutie pies are cut from Early Espresso cardstock; and then again from the very retired Champagne glimmer paper (boy, there's a hoarded stash I hope I never run out of!!) When you glue your cardstock and glimmer pieces together you get a very strong "deer" that will stand up and hold up well to use.
The way to make this work is to cut your deer from the front of your glimmer paper; and then from the backside of the glimmer paper - this gives you the mirrored images you need to make these deer work so that each deer has glimmer on his outside side.
My lead deer of course are the most special, and get to sport fancy little wreaths that have been stamped in Versamark, embossed with Gold embossing powder, and had teeny tiny little "berries" added topped off with some Clear Wink of Stella (lots of sparkly touches here ;-) )
The rest of this delightful herd sport baker's twine bows from the Candy Cane Lane Baker's Twine Duo Pack - the white is twisted with metallic red and so that's just another wonderful touch of Christmas sparkle to my project :-)
All the deer have been "hitched" together using the sparkly gold baker's twine from the Warmth & Cheer Baker's Twine Trio Pack. That package of baker's twine has Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, and this gorgeous Gold baker's twine in it!! Beautiful!!
The sleigh is cut from Cherry Cobbler cardstock, with an overlay of the ornate cutout in Gold Glimmer. The little red bows are cut from Red Glimmer!
Technique Tip: I cut the sleigh again from a Window Sheet for each side to give the sleigh blades strength and support to stand.
The "seat" of the sleigh is cut and folded from another piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock, and is just about perfect to carry my little Gold Nuggets wrapped in festive papers for delivery to someone sweet :-)
Did you see the "reins looped around the the front of the sleigh?? ;-)
I debated about what I was going to do with my little sleigh and reindeer ~
And then quite magically off they trotted and found their place among my Christmas Snow Village . . .
O M G !! So cute!
As soon as I've got the entire village in place for the season, I'll post another picture so you can see how it all looks together!
Course, the way these guys have been trotting around all over my Studio, who knows where I'll find them next -- LOL ;-)
