Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
And happy Christmas Eve Eve :-) The moment is right around the corner. I discovered yesterday that I have been pushing too hard, what with having just had surgery last Friday and all, and my body let me know it. I've kind of hit a wall, and am having to back off a little and slow down. So, I'm coming to terms with the fact that a number of items will probably not be done in time for Christmas day; folks are going to just have to understand and hopefully be gracious about getting some of their gifts a little bit late. I will have accomplished a lot before the big day though, and that makes me feel good! It is going to be time to stop and just rest and contemplate here shortly though ~ and I intend to do just that!!
This will be our final official "Christmas" design of 2016. Like the last several days of this week, this is a card that has actually been on my work table and in the works for some weeks already. I just did not get the chance to finish it up until this week. And I wanted to close out the season with this design as it is by far my most favorite and really speaks to what I love the most when making a card. It is Pinterest inspired from something I found earlier in the Fall; and I have to say I really enjoyed finally getting to sit down and create this card. I'm glad it is the one I'm closing out the Holiday Occasions catalog and season with.
This design features my #1 pick on my list of "Favorite Things" for this Holiday Catalog ~ the Christmas Pines/Pretty Pines Thinlits bundle.
I adore this stamp set and coordinating dies, and am so happy it is carrying forward into next year. Perhaps we'll make some "winter" cards yet in January ;-)
This design has special details to it that make it just shimmer - it is stamped and embossed with a combination of embossing powders; white, clear, Iridescent Ice, and silver.
To accomplish this you have to do it in "layers" or sections, however you want to define it.
Thus, I stamped my snow background first in Versamark, then embossed with white embossing powder; the Soft Sky pine branches next and embossed in clear; then the overlay pine branches (offset just slightly), in Versamark and embossed with Iridescent Ice (remember, this is retired); and finally the sentiment in Silver embossing powder.
This card is gorgeous in person!
The dies make it easy to create these beautiful pine cones; and our 3/8" Silver Glitter ribbon is just so easy to work with when creating a double-bow.
The sentiment is embossed in silver on the inside too; while the images are stamped in Smoky Slate and Soft Sky.
I love the beauty of blue and silver together; and these soft colors really just make for a spectacular and elegant card.
I hope you have enjoyed our season together and today's card.
We have lots to look forward to in the new year!!
But now it's time for me to hurry off and finish a little shopping, and get back to my tasks at hand. I will be "away" from the business side of things through the Christmas weekend; but will be back on Monday to kick off some New Year's fun :-)
I would like to leave you with a special song as we celebrate the birth of our blessed Lord Jesus Christ. Christmas Blessings to You and Yours! May you have a sweet weekend ahead with family, friends, and loved ones. I also wish you the joy and peace of this blessed season wherever you may be!
