Good Morning Fellow Stampers -
We're counting down . . . 3 1/2 days until the "D" hour . . . and I'm pleased to report that some progress has been achieved. The baking has started; all the Christmas letters are stamped and prepped, and more than half of them went out in the mail yesterday along with all the packages; and today will be focused on some other catch-up, more baking, getting the rest of the letters in the mail, and sewing, sewing, sewing!!! Whew! We might pull some of this off yet folks! Cross your fingers!
As I promised in Monday's late evening post, I have a few last minute Christmas-inspired posts for you; hopefully you'll find them fun and if you're scrambling like I am this week, maybe you'll even find them helpful. Today's set of cards I started planning over 2 weeks ago; and of course, they got waylaid with everything else that's been going on. I created these two cards specifically to showcase the Presents & Pinecones designer series paper; but after I started with the one card, I thought, why not showcase this as a "simple" card and a more detailed difficult card. Same card, two ways! :-) So, here they are!!
Both of these card bases are cut from Cherry Cobbler cardstock, and both cards feature one very prominent pattern from the Presents & Pinecones DSP collection.
This card has a simple Gold Foil background with the piece of DSP set against it, wrapped in a piece of Cherry Cobbler 3/8" Taffeta ribbon. A simple panel with coordinating designer series paper matted with Emerald Green cardstock is set over this; and finally the sweet sentiment from the Oh, What Fun stamp set, stamped in Versamark and embossed with the new Real Red glitter embossing powder, cut with Lots of Labels framelits and popped with dimensionals over some simple Gold Metallic Thread. Add those pearls and your complete!!
Now how simple and fabulous is that!!! :-)
Need a quick card? This is perfect!
This card is a simple Gate Fold Card with a belly band to dress it up!
And oh is this card fabulous!! Be ready to put in a little bit more work however!
Want something to really wow your hostess? This is the card you want to dash together before the big day!
This card is also cut from Cherry Cobbler cardstock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", and score it at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8".
The front panels showcase the same pattern from the designer series paper, but are matted with Soft Suede cardstock, for a more earthy feel.
The belly band is what makes this card so spectacular I think!!
Cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler at 1 1/2" x 9 1/2", and a piece of Soft Suede at 1 1/4" x 9 1/2"; you'll need a piece of Gold 5/8" Satin Ribbon cut 9 1/2" long as well.
Score the cardstock at approximately 2 1/4" and 6 1/2" (plus just a smidge), layer the pieces together, including your ribbon (use Fast Fuse -- it's the best for a project like this).
Carefully bend your band around your card (allowing a little bit of "extra" at the fold points so it slips on and off the card easily), and close at the back with your Fast Fuse.
The sentiment is the same as the other card, except now we're using the Emerald Envy glitter embossing powder; and the matted label is popped with dimensionals on the belly band.
And now you can pull out those Pretty Pines Thinlits, cut a few from Mint Macaron, and Emerald Envy, and a Cherry Cobbler berry; attach with glue dots; embellish with a piece of twine pulled from the Burlap Ribbon and strung with red mini jingle bells; and finish it all off with some beautiful sequins!!!
The inside of this card was stamped with a sentiment from Suite Seasons in Emerald Envy - a nice coordination to the front of the card.
There you go :-) Same card; two ways!! You can create whichever one you like and still have a fabulous card to go with that last minute gift!
Well, we're off and running into another busy day here. Although I am taking a little bit of a break from some of the responsibilities of my Stampin' Up! business, I will be checking in occasionally, so don't hesitate to send an email of you need anything or have a question. I'll try to get to you when I am able to.
Until Next Time . . .
