Good Morning Fellow Stampers ~
TGIF! We have arrived at the end of another hectic week. I'm trying to fight back a cold, and still get everything done around here I need to be focusing on. I have one more week of work for the 2016 year; and then I get some wonderful time off until January 3rd. I'm soooo looking forward to it.
Last evening at The Nutcracker Ballet was absolutely wonderful and breathtaking. Of course, I love The Nutcracker Ballet; and the Colorado Ballet just performs it so well! Mike and my evening together was sweet and romantic, even if it was bitterly cold outside; all the more reason to snuggle, right? ;-)
It's time to play the final Mojo Monday [MOJO477] challenge of 2016. Mojo will be on break until January; but that will leave us plenty of time to play with some things from the Holiday Occasions catalog; and start sneakpeaking some fun from the new 2017 Spring Occasions catalog -- whooo hoooo ;-)
I am so over the moon about this card design today. I have to tell you, that I started a different card earlier in the week; didn't like where it was going; slept on the whole thing overnight; came back to my work table the next evening, and started all over!! But where things ended up was exactly what I wanted and I was so much happier :-)
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card base is cut from Crumb Cake cardstock (the closest think I have to "Kraft" in my inventory right now), 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4" - a regular side fold A2 card. The background layer is most fun. I have a matting piece of Cherry Cobbler, and the overlays are a piece of Whisper White (1 3/4" x 5 1/4") embossed with the cozy Cable Knit Dynamic embossing folder; sharing the front space with a beautiful piece of designer paper (2 1/2" x 5 1/4") from the Presents & Pinecones DSP. I ADORE this background layer. The stars in the designer paper coordinate so nicely with the embossed piece, and the warmth of the color just makes me feel happy! This layering is wrapped with a piece of Cherry Cobbler silky taffeta ribbon from the 3/8" combo pack.
- Santa's Sleigh. I used the fabulous and incredible Santa's Sleigh bundle for this card front today ~ both the stamp set and the coordinating framelits! What an incredible set. You don't want to miss out having this in your stash for years to come!! The tree was stamped with Emerald Envy ink on Emerald Envy paper, and Mister Dasher (isn't he so studly -- LOL), was stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on Soft Suede. Cut with the matching framelits, and popped with dimensionals, it is so easy to create this card.
- Glitter It Up. This pretty little sentiment is from the Hang Your Stocking stamp set; stamped in Versamark, I actually pulled out my Real Red Glitter embossing powder for the first time. O M G!! What have I been thinking? Have you tried this stuff yet??!! WOW! I am in Love!!! So easy; so beautiful -- a total WOW impact! Now I'm wondering if I'd better stock up somemore before it's gone . . . sheesh! Try is Stampers! You'll love it! Did you know it comes in Emerald Envy too?? This pretty sentiment has been cut out using the fabulous Stitched Shape Framelits, and bordered with a lovely oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits.
- Finish It Off. A simple Cherry Cobbler bow . . . and the pearls! ;-) Ahhhhhh yes, the pearls! I LOVE the pearls on this tree. This card just "speaks" to me - I hope it does to you too!! :-)
It's been so much fun to share with you today! Here's hoping you have a fabulous Friday, and a great and productive weekend ahead. Hoping you get all those Christmas preparation tasks completed! It's time for me to start my Christmas Newsletter, finishing decorating the house, and work like mad on all my sewing projects :-) As always, I'm only an email away if you need me :-)
Until Next Time . . .
