Good Morning Fellow Stampers :-)
Happy Thursday! We're plowing right through this week. Busy busy! How about all of you? I'm making a list for Spring cleaning around here! There's lots that needs to be done. In the meantime, it seems winter is going to make a comeback, apparently around 6:00 pm tonight. LOL Don't know how they figure that out!
It's Change-Up Thursday time; and today we're going to play with a kit out of the Spring Occasions Catalog. I'm actually having a class this weekend with this kit; and I'm kind of excited about it!
There are some wonderful aspects to Stampin' Up! kits that make me really love them. First, except for the coordinating stamp set, SU! kits are "all inclusive" - that is, they have like "everything" for the project featured in the kit. And there are some pretty cool things in these kits; products that you cannot purchase separately or find in any of our catalogs - the Birthday Bright Kit is no exception. Cute little black bows, fabulous strip confetti, little honeycombs, fabulous enamel dots -- all sorts of things! You will love this kit! And it comes in an absolutely beautiful box that you can store everything in!
The second thing I love about SU! kits is, although the projects can be easy and quick (and are absolutely GREAT for beginner stampers), the projects are perfect jumping off points to create fabulous "stepped up" projects of your own. Take the project as given, and step it up a notch, or two or three. Or take the products in the kit and make something totally different with them! It's so easy and fun! Get your creative juices flowing with a Stampin' Up! Kit!!
Here are a few of the projects that I created from this cute adorable kit!
This card I left "as is" as the kit instructed!
Mostly, because I love shaker cards! And because this card, just the way it is, is sooooo cute!! I just love it!
Fun, easy, simple :-)
This card is a simple "step up" from the original project, with nothing more than creating "color" with the stamped background! How simple and easy is that?
And look at the impact of this simple card! It's so fun!
The card standing in the background, is the original project - but stepped up a notch, by simply embossing the overlay with the Sparkle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
Now really - what a difference that makes - and how easy that is to step up your project!!
And did you catch that the Sparkle TIEF is available this final week of Sale-A-Bration as a Free SAB Product?? Don't miss out on that one!!
Now here's the silly thing about this kit and how easy to create a whole second project.
The instructions say to pope the cake die cut out of the center of that pretty Watermelon Wonder/Silver foil card base and discard it! Really!!!??? Sheesh!
Look at how perfect that is to create a whole second card! Cute Cute Cute!! And that's NOT a project from the kit; it's created with items from the kit!
Now how about this?
That cute "gift" package on the front of the card are items that were intended for one of the tag projects.
But I took it and created a card front from it instead - and again pulled in the Sparkle TIEF for background texture; and used one of the black card bases from the kit as well.
And then flip to the inside of your card and create a fabulous little sentiment with the coordinating stamp set! How cute is this?! Heehee
Oh that really is fun!! Want to see this kit close up and personal? Check out Stampin' Up! video on this kit - and then snap it up in my Online Store today! :-)
I'll have another idea for you this weekend after my crafters get done with class on Saturday - so stay tuned :-) Something I'm contemplating :-)
Time to head off to work! I hope you all have a great Thursday! And don't forget about Sale-A-Bration. If you order this kit and its coordinate stamp set, and one other small item, you'll have enough to get a Free Sale-A-Bration item. Now there's a deal!! :-)
Until Next Time . . .
